Wow I've just got another Caroline Canters Home!!! None for ages and then 3 come at once! Cant tell you what it cost tho as I bought it as part of a large job lot of pony books. But if you count the cost as per separate book probably about 50p!!!

Hello everyone, this is my first post but I have been lurking for many months. Has anyone come across 'I Found Happiness' by Jane Munro Gaymer? My best friend gave me a hardback copy for my birthday and it is so beautiful I hardly dare touch it.
Anyway, just wanted to be smug. And if I were a little more technically minded I would scan in the beautiful author picture on the cover...
What a lovely website, by the way.
What a lovely

Congrats on your first post! I am a lurker by nature also. This is one of the few forums I post a lot and thats only cos I admin/moderate it! I find a lot of forums are so bogged down by people sniping at each other that you don't post for fear of getting involved in it all. Even tho I say it myself this is a very friendly forum! Nice present BTW. Havent read it however. My birthday coming up soon so hoping to get some nice books to alleviate the pain of another year older Oh and thanks for the kind words re. the website!

Just got Four Ponies by Judith Campbell - not read it before - first chapter seemed ok although internal illustrations are pretty horrible. Also two Shirley Faulkner-Horne books - Bred in the Bone and White Poles - which are incredibly similar to each other in terms of plot and characters (just written 20 years apart)!!!

Thats a nice cover on ponys next door, I've never seen that edition - is it a white lion? I love the cover on Pony riad - I'm not a pink person at all but it was such a surprise when my own copy arrived to see such a pink cover from an un pink era (Jordan eat your heart out!) - It was about as different from what I ahd expected it to be like as was possible!

Yes its a white lion I hadnt seen it before so snapped it up! Unfortunately the pic is spoiled a bit by my crappy scanner for some reason it puts lines across some of the things I scan I must admit to being slightly a 'pink' person , that is I like stuff like pink tops and jumpers. Pony Raid is extremely bright tho!

Love the leg warmers. Unfortunately I actually used to wear them tho not for riding! BTW I'm sure a certain bookshop appreciates your thanks You are in for a great time if you havent read The Team or Dream of Fair Horses before, they are 2 of the best pony books ever. (Don't forget to vote on The Team) Sarah - missed your post. In answer to your question the illustrator was Michael Lyne, very nice pics.

Yes the leggings were a bit OTT I wore some weird stuff in the 80s but didnt quite go that far! Yes of course you can vote (or indeed discuss) books from past reading circle discussions. The threads are open ended anyone can add stuff to em whenever they like.

My latest books I am not the greatest fan of anthologies/short story books, but I only got this because I knew there was a CPT story in it. Ribbons and Rings is in generally poor condition, but at least it is a first edition and it is not one that you see very often anyway. Finally, my piece de resistance:-

Ooh you lucky thing getting Steeplechase adv!!! Did it cost a lot? If you dont mind will nick that pic for my website. It wasnt that bad. I paid £32.32 including postage, but I was willing to pay over £100. Considering I paid nearly £150 for The Deep Sea Horse (Primrose Cumming) it was quite a bargain, and IMO it is just as rare as that. It is also in fantastic condition - it has just corner and spine bumping, and a small amount of staining (really tiny) on some corner edges but otherwise, mint.

You never guess what? I had an email saying that Jackie's Steeplechase Adventure is coming my way. They're like buses, wait until one shows and two come at once.
So it looks like I will have another copy, which I will probably flog on ebay, unless I can sell it here.

I am after a copy of Amatuer Horse dealers at the min but after seeing sarah's only one with a wrapper will do...I am guessing yours hasn't Claire? Is that a US print of Sue?
I have just paid far too much for a 1st of Pony Club Team but it is a very nice copy and finally found an affordable copy of Mark Rashid's Big horses, good dogs, Straight Fences in the UK.

No haffyfan mine doesnt have a wrapper unfortunately. Her books are very hard to get with them, arent they?
It is a large print edition of Sue, its huge, when the parcel arrived couldnt think what it was. I think it is US I got it from there anyway but am too lazy to get up and have a check ;D tell you later!
Did you get that copy of Team that was floating around on ebay - or from somewhere else?
