Thats great! Can't believe how much it was going for over there! Glad you got it a bit cheaper tho. Strangely enough have also lost my copy of it and am looking for a replacement. Pony Club Team is the easiest one of the lot to find here infact I'm pretty sure its on the book swaps list. I cant find it at all here,i have searched ebay.au for over two years and look in the book shops and op-shops weekly....i think i need to take a trip to the UK .

My latest arrivals I do already have that DPT book (been covered in my blog), but it had a rather nasty photographic cover, and I was keen to replace it. It is a first edition to boot. I got this a couple of weeks ago, but never showed you it. Also, I bought this about 2 weeks ago from a charity shop for only 99p. This is despite me saying ages ago that I didnt like the Jinny series! But I am enjoying it so far.

Oh - lucky you - Nancy Caffrey is so expensive - saw a beautiful copy of Penny's Worth there a few months ago - but it went for way over my budget - about 3 or 4 times as much if I remember rightly. I've been really bad buying books recently - will have to take a few photos and post them.

I've gone a bit mad lately. Got so many books waiting to be read now...about 40!!! And I'm a fast reader. The trouble is as a bookseller I justify buying them by telling myself I can sell them for a profit but then they sit around for ages as I dont want to sell 'em until I've read 'em (and some I dont even want to sell then!) so I end up with a huge stockpile.

Sarah...I saw that copy of Penny's Worth too...went waay over my head as well.....and it's the only book by Caffrey I'm missing...waaah!!!!
Claire...hope you enjoy Mig (and sell him on for a good profit..has it ever struck you as ironic that you're sort of a literary horse coper?)

Oh I like that. A literary horse coper sounds far more interesting than a bookseller!
I have seen 2 copies of Penny's Worth on ebay lately. I know the first one went for a lot, not sure about the 2nd as they wouldn't post to the UK so I stopped watching it. I would like a copy but seems I would have competition! Started reading Mig. love it so far. Even tho its an American author its set in Ireland.

Mig starts in Ireland, but there is a journey to the US in his future!
Re Penny's Worth, from the bidding I saw, we'll have a lot of competition! Sigh....it really did go for an astonishing price....more even than I paid for Horse Haven or Show Pony, and they weren't cheap!

I will deffo be coming on here to gloat if I get that one! I dont have the second book in the series (or the 3rd come to think of it) but it is on my want list. I will definitely get the third, after all I managed to get The Deep Sea Horse which I thought I would never get.

There is (was?) another copy of Deep Sea Horse on Abebooks. I had it on my wants list and they emailed me but too expensive for me! But if anyone else interested have a look or I can email you the sellers details. Unless its already sold by now...

I would be tempted to go and buy it, but it doesnt have the complete dj though. That is the only time I would repurchase it. But I am happy enough just to own it.

I'd help you out by buying the 'Silver Eagle' book, Claire, but am particularly broke at the moment mainly due to $60 driving lesson/license testing once or twice a week- bleah: know which I'd prefer to spend my dosh on!
Re; coming to the UK Tinuveil, I'm possibly going over next year and I'm going to go book hunting and buy a cheap suitcase and fill that up with as many pony books as the airline will allow!

It's about 7 degrees celsius with a wind chill factor making it feel around 3 degrees here today- I like cold weather!
I'll definitely be going to Yorkshire- my Dad was born and raised in Halifax so I'm keen to visit there and see the Dales. I'm planning my Dream Itinery around visits to rescue organisations- Redwings, the ILPH or whatever they call themselves now- and hopefully do a trek somewhere scenic.

Claire...I saw that copy of Penny's Worth too.....didn't bid myself, as I thought it went too high for a copy lacking a dj. Did you see this copy of Somebody's Pony? Also without dj, but at $10 with nobody bidding on it, it's reasonable. The original of the book retitled "Lost Pony" when it was released in paperback. Has lovely color frontis and internal illustrations by Jeanne Mellin, which weren't printed in the paperback version. (Grin...I was lucky enough to hit a buy-it-now of the book, in dj, for $50 some years back....I bet it hadn't been online for more than an hour or so before I snapped it up!) cgi.ebay.com/Somebodys-Pony-by-Nancy-Caffrey-Jeanne-Mellin-Horse_W0QQitemZ370067258383QQihZ024QQcategoryZ29223QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

ooh...lucky you..where do you find them? I notice you have found a copy of Caroline Canters Home too at some point!

Yes Caroline wasnt that cheap tho and was solely a business buy as I'd already read it (thanks to sarah) which is probably why I never mentioned it. Trying to make a few bucks on it not sure if it will meet its reserve just testing the water with it.
I wish I could find pilot the chaser tho never seem to see that one anywhere! Am going to scan all these rare books...more about this later.

My latest book Although I already have We Rode To The Sea, I much prefer this edition and have only seen it once before, so it is quite rare I think. Wish For A Pony and The Summer Of The Great Secret (both by Monica Edwards) also exist as these editions too.

Is it pilot the hunter or pilot the chaser you have kunuma? One is relatively easy to find (hunter) the other mega-hard to find!
