It's a shame but I don't think there are any books featuring a Dales pony - and they are one of my fav breeds too. Can I count donkey as a D? If so then Josephine in Special Delivery by Gillian Baxter is a great donk character.

Thank you for the pics sarah. It is indeed a beautiful breed. I'll jump on to E... Exmoor. Possibly the most famous pony book Exmoor - Moorland Mousie.

Just to add, going back to Andalusian, I am in Spain at the moment was hoping to get to see the Andalusian Stud at Jerez, (as the last time I was here I didnβt have time) but am gutted as this time Iβm too early in the year for the tours of the stud to have started ! One day Iβll get there....

Back to the cold and damp of Blighty for me! My F - Fjord. Only a couple of books I can think of with the breed in. The most well known is Foal of the Fjords by Primrose Cumming.

Hmmmm - Friesian horse but can't think of any books with them in. There's definitely at least one but for the life of me I can't remember it! Beautiful horses. Last F I can think of - French Trotter. No books though.

Last "F" I can think of is Faroe Island Pony - but again no books.
Let's move on to "G" for the next one.

Wow! Thanks so much for that video sarah, I really enjoyed it. And the Faroe Islands look stunnning - if cold! The ponies look a bit like a mixture of shetland and exmoor. I hope she can get the numbers up. G is not an easy letter either. I'll go for a breed I have a soft spot for, being a big coloured horse fan - Gypsy Cob. Can't think of a specific horse character off the top of my head but, considering the proliferation of gypsies in pony books, there must have been a fair number of gypsy cobs appearing!

I can only think of Gelderlander. I'd be really surprised if there are any books featuring the breed!
