I am now the proud owner of two baby turtles! Bit of a long story. Basically my brother had a big fish tank, one of those ones for tropical fish, and he was really into it for a few months (as usual) then got bored and neglected to change the filter etc so the tank got all bogged up with gunk etc (the fish didnt seem to mind, infact, I think they thrived). Anyway one day me and my other brother decided we had seen enough and confiscated the fish and tank and relocated it downstairs in the hall. It took an entire DAY to clean the whole thing out, and we went and bought some new plants for it and it looked beautiful !
So anyway over the weeks we got a few more fish and kept adding to it slowly, and one day when we went into the fish shop, they had a cage of these very cute baby turtles. They were adorable! But I didnt think twice about getting one because I thought they couldnt live with fish, would grow huge etc but when talking to the man, he said they would be fine, they just needed a little platform and some special food. So I thought, why not, and got the smallest one, who is just a bit bigger than my thumb nail. And they are so amazing and fun to watch. Anyway he seemed happy enough, but I kept finding him in the filter. For some reason he'd climb in and not be able to get out, silly thing.
So one morning I got up and couldnt see him. I checked in the filter and IT HAD BEEN CHANGED!
So of course I panicked and found the dirty filter in the bin, but no turtle. So I went through the entire bin looking for him, but he wasnt there. So I serched the whole ground floor for literally hours but still couldnt find him. I thought maybe the dog had got him
So a few days later, my mum, feeling sorry for me, decided to sneakily replace him. But whilst she was out at the shop, guess who crawled out covered in dust? Yep, my little guy! So I kept him in his own little tub for a bit with some food, and he seemed fine, so I stuck him back in, only to get a shock when I realised there were two now!
The new one is much bigger than him, but they get along great and bask together. So cute! And you could literally watch them for hours.
I just hope they arn't male and female, I cant be doing with any more!
The qualitys not much good!
