(Well I think they're interesting anyway!)
Come across a few titbits whilst doing some research on authors lately. Thought I'd put them on here in case anyone interested.
* Diana Pullein-Thompson's fav books of those she wrote are apparantly Cassidy in Danger and Ponies in Peril
* The P-T sisters got a lot of the dialogue in their books from conversations they'd overheard the pupils at their riding school having!
*Hilda Bodens fav book she wrote was not one of her pony ones, but another non-pony one called Faraway Farm
*Judith Berrisford wrote a book called Pengelly Face under the name of Amanda Hope
*Primrose Cumming wrote ballet stories for a magazine even though she knew nothing about ballet!
*K M Peyton eloped with her husband Michael when they were both art students
*K M Peyton & husband wrote stories together for boy scout magazines!
Feel free to add any other snippets you think are interesting. I will too if I come across anything else.

In two of Judith Berrisford's Jackie's books there is a trekking centre called Pinewoods in Wales. There was, until a couple of years ago, a real life trekking centre called Pinewoods, which was at one point in her life, approximately 4 miles away from where she lived.
Also, each of the 3 P-T sisters wrote at least one book with a pony called Jigsaw in it (Josephine: Pony Club Challenge and Pony Club Trek; Diana: Ponies in Peril; Christine: the entire Black Pony Inn series and Sundance Saves the Day)
Diana incorporated 2 of her aunts in her work (her mother's sisters). May (Cannan) was referenced in Ponies On the Trail and a story by Dorothea (Cannan) appears in True Horse and Pony Stories.

Re. the ref to May Cannan in Ponies on the Trail, what was that? On one of the pages it says "Brave boy, I wish I had a soldier son," said Mrs Wetherall, before reciting three war poems by an obscure poet called May Wedderburn Cannan. Most people wouldnt know who May (Wedderburn) Cannan was, but at the end of the day she is an aunt of Diana's (Dorothea's and Joanna's sister). I havent found any reference to her mother, other than the fact "The Boy and the Donkey/The Donkey Race" is dedicated to her. Curiously enough, it is dedicated to "Joanna Cannan" rather than "to my mother" (or words to that effect).

Also,
British Library lists 2 other books by Amanda Hope; Lord of Glenjerrick and Mistress of Eden.
Do you know Claire if Judith Berrisford wrote those two?

Hi garej, the reference book I got the amanda hope info from didn't mention those two but it seems likely there were also by her as they are on the same british lib record. They sound like historical romances dont they? Unfortunately its not worth googling the name as by a strange quirk of fate it is also that of a Playboy centrefold!
I'm doing some more research next week will see if I can find more about it.

British Library doesnt list as a pseudonym of Judith Berrisford, but then again, it isnt always accurate on pseudonyms. For example it doesnt list that Jane Eliot is a pseudonym of Patricia Leitch, or the woman who wrote pony books under the pseudonym of Mary Gervaise also used the names Hilary Wayne and Bellamy Brown. The only time I have been known it to be accurate (at least pony book wise) is Josephine Pullein-Thompson, who wrote only one book (according to Who's Who) as Josephine Mann. Google was no good for me as far as Josephine Mann went either - the only decent link it comes up with is the wikipedia article, and it's only there because I put it there myself.
