QUICK RANT - Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh At my school there has always been a biscuit rota - if you eat biscuits regularly you go on the rota and bring in biscuits (funnily enough) when it is your turn. If people not on the rota have the occasional biscuit after a **** day then no-one minds - especially as these people tend to bring in the odd packet every now and then. BUT - now the head (new) has decided to ban the biscuit rota. Apparently she said it wasn't a way to promote team-building and we couldn't have the rota unless everyone was on it. Headship or dictatorship - one might ask. It may sound rather trivial - but this is just the tip of the iceberg!

Honestly you'd think the Head would have something more important to worry about than biscuits. Its annoying when stuff like that goes on at work. Remembering stuff like that from my last job makes me glad I am self employed PS thought the thread was about diets til I read it! ;D

You were very civilised having a rota. Somehow at our place the same circle of peops buy biscuits and another select few eat them in vast quantities daily without ever contributing And don't get me started on the one who buys custard creams and other biscuit nasties when we buy the nice (and much needed!) choccy varities or heads as ours really does take the biscuit ;D on being a general waste of space who earns a whopping salary for doing sweet FA bar a bit of delegating and every conference going(plush residential only of course).

But I agree, it's ridiculous. Soon, we will have no free will at all, everything including how and when you go to the loo, will be strictly regulated. At one place I worked at, you were regulated on toilet breaks, and the supervisor had to tell you when you were allowed a toilet break. If after 10 mins you didnt come back, someone would come looking for you.

Maybe she thinks we all need to lose weight!!! I think it is a power control thing - just one of many.
Personally I feel she is taking the **** a bit - as she always seems to be 'working from home' every Thursday and Friday - despite telling everyone else that they couldn't take their non-contact time out of school.
Oh well - enough moaning for now - must go and do some marking!!!

It wasnt Barclays was it Garej? lol. Thankfully I have never worked at a bank. It was a chicken factory - the thing was that the job I was doing there was 8 of us doing it, so if one person left the line it was not a major thing. Thankfully I worked there only for 2 weeks before I got reassigned with another food (ready meal) factory - at least there, you could at least go to the toilet when you wanted to!

I know its pretty bad at Barclays call centres from knowing a few people who have worked there and yes they had toilet breaks at certain times too. Actually against health and safety regs and human rights as far as I am aware.
I couldnt have managed as I have a weak bladder and am always nipping off to the loo! ;D

I sort of know how you feel- in year 11 you are allowed a kettle, so we bring in hot chocolate and squash and other snacks... but we have no rota and its always the same people bringing stuff in and the same people eating/drinking it! I brought a thing of hot chocolate and it was gone within 2 days! And I got none, so i dont bother anymore. A lot of the others bring sachets so they can keep it to themselves. Why doesnt everyone go on the rota? Or.. I dunno do some wierd team building excersise with biscuits How about a cake rota?! Sounds much better to me. Or a secret rota.... why does the head have to know.... oops im bad at leading people astray, I apologise
