As you know I like to compile lists of pony books according to colours, areas, breeds, etc. (I dont get out much ) I have quite a few books listed for the more popular horse and pony breeds such as TBs, Welshes, Arabs, Dartmoors, Exmoors, Brumbies, etc, but what about rarer breeds? As far as I know there is only one pony book featuring a Przewalskis Horse, for example (The Marvellous Mongolian). Other breeds that I am wondering about include Friesans, French Trotters, Barbs, Icelandic Ponies, Pasos, Trakhener, Hackneys, Haflingers, Akhal-Tekes etc, etc. If you can think of any books which feature these or any other less well known breeds i would be very interested. Also some not really uncommon breeds still seem rare in pony books, such as Dales Ponies for example.

I think one of the rescues in Follyfoot was a Mongolian pony - an elderly one called Trotsky? If I recall, his old owner found him and then he died? Or am I just confused?

Do Mancha and Gato count? There was an Appaloosa in the Punchbowl Farm books, - the one that chased dogs - and the 'never appearing' Rose of Sharon who was a polo pony.
