Hi all, just been reading a couple of Peggie Cannam books and am pleasantly surprised. In the past I had only read Hoofbeats which is a rather odd 'autobiographical' account of her childhood. (I thought it was actually a story at first as it reads like fiction) Wasn't very impressed with it but have since managed to get hold of 2 of her other books (Musical Ride and Triple Bar) - they are all quite rare BTW - and really enjoyed them. Both have very sympathetic characters. Triple Bar in particular is a really good read. A little Black-Beauty-esque which is not normally my fav type of pony book but this one is a cut above the usual. Also one for the hankies if you are like me a big softy!
Was wondering if anyone else has read these or any other Peggie Cannam books and if so what do you think of 'em?

Got them both in my 'to read' pile (or should that be mountain). Have also read Black Fury which was fine (better than Hoofbeats at any rate which I didn't like much either). There is also 'She Wanted a Pony' and 'RIding for Ridge Abbey' - but haven't read them for years so don't remember what they are like. Ohh and 'Corn and Carrot TOps' written by a pony who wants to be a poet and escapes from his field and sets off to London to find a publisher (better than it sounds)!

Triple Bar lurks in my tbr pile...hmm....might lurk a while, not in the mood at the moment for a three hankie book! (Still, glad to know it's worth reading when I get to it!)

Oh good! I loved Lucky Purchase by the way....I've really enjoyed all of PM-M's work to date....Blue Rosette, Topper and High Honours are in my tbr pile, but it's not so much that I haven't got round to them as that I'm sort of doling them out slowly, to make them last longer :-)

Was disappointed by Ridge Abbey after liking the last two of hers. I found it decidedly dull in fact struggled to finish it. Well now have read 4 of hers: 2 good 2 bad. Hope the three I have left to read are in the 'good' category!
