Hi Was driving car yesterday and as I was changing into 3rd gear going round a roundabout there was a loud noise from the clutch pedal. Now as I lift my foot off the clutch (just after it is fully depressed) there is a clunking noise. At times louder than others - most noticeably when turning the steering wheel. Any ideas what the problem could be? (very old car by the way - but only 65,000 on the clock). Thanks (feeling bit scared that my book buying days might have to be over for a while and car buying days might be just round the corner)

Yes Trixiepony - thank your dad for that suggestion - will look into it. Don't want to look too stupid when I take it to the garage!
