Like exmoorfan said, first editions are always dated. Jane Badger has a bit on her website about the different edition, if yours is an hb without a date, chances are, it dates from the 1960s. www.janebadgerbooks.co.uk/ponybooksfile2/pcbib2-ss.htmlMine is a Fidra book edition, no queries as to when this dates from!

Thank you everyone.. Jane has confirmed that my edition is probably a late 1940's edition..

mysteryarab - While the original hardcovers are still hard to find and expensive, Fridra books has done a reprint of the book...it's paperback, but has original text and illustrations... www.fidrabooks.com/publishing/cumming.shtml
