I'm currently enjoying a new author (to me) who I found on kindle freebies - who writes interesting sci fi, interesting because he does have some scientific knowledge so you don't keep thinking, well, that couldn't happen and rushing to your cosmology book for reference!!
BUT his female characters are a hoot, they are all strong capable women, well , I'm all for that, but they are also stunningly good looking, can fly spaceships, drive fast cars, are a surgeon in their spare time and good at everything else as well(if you get my drift) - so I sometimes think I 'm not so much reading a story as living in his ultimate fantasy world!! As I am struggling to keep my old banger going at the moment never mind taking part in Le Mans - it's rather annoying!!

Who is the author Kunuma. I do like a bit of sci-fi occaisionally tho I'm totally useless with any of the scientific theory side of things - that all passes over my head. Hey maybe we should start a sci-fi and/or fantasy thread in the non-pony book section. |

I don't mind the odd superwoman heroine, I liked Wonder Woman because she had a nice dog!! The star of these books, Adrian Tarn, is every woman's dream as a male hero, but these are all the women he meets on his travels and/or falls in love with, in the current book his love interest takes up with someone else and he is very chilled about it and just says it was her time to move on, so incredibly balanced as well! I think all these superwomen annoy me because it reminds me when I meet him on a distant planet I won't stand a chance with him!! Claire this is him, www.smashwords.com/profile/view/ERMason |

MM the hero is all ways perfect, male and female , sounds fun Claire I like a little fantasy and si/fi.

Thanks for the link Kunuma. Yep it does sound like the author is fulfilling some of his fantasies lol. It's just like all those Mills n Boons and bodice-rippers where the female authors are obviously putting their fantasy men down on paper. Personally I can't stand those male heroes, I don't trust good-looking men and I prefer a bloke with a few rough edges and more of a quirky personality. Apologies I seem to have wandered onto a dating site by mistake...  Defo going to start up a sci-fi thread shortly... |

I've just found the most fabulous quote from this author, who does come out with comments on life that show he is a thinking individual (rare today I find!!)
