Hi folks its ages since we had a top 10. I am going to do a special page on my website devoted to unicorns so I thought it would be interesting to see what unicorn stories people know of and like. Also do people consider unicorn stories as true pony stories?
Here is the list of unicorn stories I had already compiled from the website. If anyone knows of any others please post here.
Peter Beagle - The Last Unicorn Alea Bushardt - Cloud Filly, Sky Stallion Linda Chapman - My Secret Unicorn series Babette Cole - The Unicorn Princess Stephen Cosgrove - Morgan series Berlie Doherty - Spellhorn Kathleen Duey - Spirit of the Unicorn Series Elizabeth Goudge - The Little White Horse Mollie Hunter - Day of the Unicorn Ann M Martin - Karen's Unicorn Louise Moeri - The Unicorn and the Plow
My favs out of those I have read above are Little White Horse and The Last Unicorn.

Not pony books but i love Robert vavra's photography and they do have a story to them...
To add to your list i've got The Unicorn Who Wanted To Be Seen (Lottie someone, can't think off top of my head) and Micheal morpurgos I believe In Unicorns and there's the illustrated vavra The Wonder of unicorns, which is verse...looks like a childs picture book but it would go over their head!
My personal favourite is Raising Unicorns Your Step-by-Step Guide to Starting and Running a Successful - and Magical! - Unicorn Farm by Jessica Marquis. Good fun but not strictly a pony book of course again.

Elidor by Alan Garner. But I can't remember how much of the unicorn there was in it.

A friend gave it to me for Christmas because she said every time she rang me I'd say hang on I'm just training my unicorn!! Some of you will know why!!!!

Forgot about Elidor - its a bit weird tho! Rosie - I would recommend the Peter Beagle story. He also wrote a very good one about 2 ghosts falling in love in a graveyard. Very appropriate for me and my views on romance at the moment lol. Title escapes me at the mo. Oooh that Unicorn Training book sounds good. May have to borrow it from one of my lovely friends...

Mmm...having read a few reviews I'm not sure I would, I don't really like fantasy novels. But having said that there are a few I've actually liked so you never know!

Well its horses for courses to use a punnish metaphor lol. I quite like fantasy but I'm not sure if it would appeal to someone who doesn't. I dont think there is enough unicorn stories to do a proper top ten but I reckon The Little White Horse would have the number one spot.

Charles Stross: Equiods for a different and rather unpleasant take on the nature of unicorns. It's science fiction rather than ponies, but he does have a bit of a poke at pony mad girls.
