I haven't been around much because I recently moved from Tasmania to Queensland. It's been quite a shock to move from a mild temperate climate to sub tropical. I stopped whingeing about the heat when I saw footage of the really bad storms in the US. My cats have found the door into summer and they think it's fabulous. Flying with them was a nightmare for me but they loved the flight, judging by their happy expressions when I retrieved their crates. My pony book collection is still in storage; I thinned it down quite a bit, but I am missing my "pony fixes". The library here is very good but thin on pony books. I have only found 2 second hand bookshops and neither has many children's books. I hope everyone is doing well. Cheers, Vera

Hi Vera, exciting news! Glad you are settling in - and the cats too! Do you have a kindle (or you can install kindle app on your computer). If so there are always some free or low cost pony books you can download. Not just modern ones, some old favourites are available too. They could give you the much needed pony fix!

Glad your move went ok, Vera! I'm impressed with your willpower thinning out the books....I keep trying, but as many as I get rid of, I seem to add even more I echo Claire on the Kindle....it really is worthwhile now. So many older books are becoming available, and when space is an issue, it's like buying elastic walls. I've bought both pony books and older mysteries (Agatha Christie, Marjory Allingham, Rex Stout, etc) on it and it's made a world of difference.

Hi Vera, moving is soooo stressful but glad to hear it all went O.K. I'm not one who loves flying either!
I recently moved and had to thin my collection down but am still amazed how many I've got (mainly because I couldn't bear to part with most of them)

Phil and I have decided to emigrate to Yorkshire eventually which is just as well because otherwise I would have had to do it alone.
It will be quite a few years away which worries me, but have to see the kids fledge properly and, awful to say it, wait until our older animals have lived out their long and lazy lives here in this hell hole.
Will take a bit a longer than expected as I lost my job yesterday- my government contract wasn't renewed- which makes me NOT want to be here even more which I would have thought impossible.
After I get over this hump hopefully I will force myself to sit down and write a pony book as I can't think of any other way to make $ in a goodly amount for a woman about to turn 50 living in a conservative and crappy misogynistic society.
