Sorry to have to post that my beloved cat Rosie has lost her brave battle against ill health. She was put to sleep this morning peacefully in her basket. She'd managed to eat some of her favourite prawns for supper and she'd had a good day on Friday when she was feeling almost herself. But she was starting to get distressed early this morning so I knew it was time to say goodbye. Thanks all on here for your support through it all. I am devastated of course but in some ways relieved that she can have some peace after all she's been through. Here's one of my fav pics of her enjoying the sun last spring after her first operation.

A big hug Claire. So sad to hear she has finally gone, but as you say a relief too, as she is at peace now with no more pain. R.I.P. Rosie

Thanks for the hugs xxx My dad has taken her off to bury her with her 2 brothers and pal Oscar so they'll all be together now. Still in shock somewhat. Life won't be the same without her.

So deeply sorry, Claire. So glad you were able to do this for her before her suffering got too great.

Bigs hugs for you Claire, such a sad time for you. Rosie will live on in your heart and happy memories of her will comfort you. She was a lucky girl to have such a kind and caring guardian.

Sorry to hear this, Claire. Sounds like you gave her a great life to the very end, though.

Thanks Daren, I hope I did. Her last op was hard going but gave her a couple of months of good quality life at least. Before the last week she was really enjoying life and playing like a kitten! So maybe it was worth it. If it hadn't been for her teeth I think she could have gone on for a long time more. But at 16 and a half she was still one of the longest living of all my moggies. Not bad for a kitten rescued from a feral colony and reared by hand!
Oh btw thanks to all of you who posted condolences on facebook.

Claire, I am so sorry. You and Rosie have been through so much. I am always grateful that we can give our companion animals the last gift of grace, even though it is so difficult.
