I've got an old hardback of SB's Daughter with photos of real brumbies in it. Was the whole series done with these, I have never seen any others sadly. (I loved the photos as a child, now of course I can't help but wonder if they were being rounded up for some unpleasant fate.) I especially loved the one of kunuma and wanga! Going to try and post said photo!

I spied a copy of an Elyne Mitchell (is that the correct name?) book at the RDA this week called something like 'Son of Whirlwind"- is that a common book? The title may not be accurate but Whirlwind was in there somewhere and I'd never heard of it before. It's an old copy too with a tatty but attractive dust cover, so if anyone knows if it might be worth something let me know & I'll possibly auction it off for them.

Cally that is the last book in the Silver B series and is the rarest one, altho maybe commoner in australia than here. It would be worth a few quid in the uk especially with a dj.

I might ask the boss(es) if I can sell it for them because the kids never read the wordier books. mmm.... I might start checking the market out, so if anyone has any suggestions re it's value I'd be keen to hear your opinions- it is for charity too.

Wow...Never heard of any Brumby books with photos. All I can say is I'm very envious.
With regards to Son of the Whirlwind, I found mine in a WH Smith 3 in 1 with Kingdom and Whirlwind...it was 20p in a charity sale last Christmas, and a pb Moon Filly for the same price. The proudest day of my book collecting life! No idea about current market value, though

Yes I would love the editionwith the photos in too.
Re the valuation of Son of the Whirlwind I usually sell pbs for about £8 I have never had a hardback edition, but looking at abe books £20-40 seems a reasonable valuation depending on condition.
