Sorry to hear she picked her stitches out -- silly girl! Hope it doesn't slow her healing down too much.

Well back from vets and thankfully she hasn't done too much harm as they were already healed to some extent. I still don't know how she managed to get at them with the inflatable collar on. I have been trying to find a different sort but it seems you can only get them on the internet so stuck with the plastic one from the vets which is really fiddly to take on and off. I'll have to try and modify it.
Yep Rosie - determined is one word for it - I'd maybe use another! ;D

Spent last night making a homemade collar for her from an old t-shirt (its pink lol) Its like the inflatable one in shape but bigger. Hopefully she won't be able to defeat this one!!! She looks mega cute in it, like she's in the middle of a giant pink marshmallow! - will try and take a pic.

Cats can get out or into ANYTHING. My abyssinian Abi once went behind a fridge and climbed into the engine: there was her head, her tail and one leg sticking out and the rest was engine parts. I ran to a neighbour who took it apart and extracted her, but it was nearly a fire service job. It was TERRIFYING!

You've done a good job with that, maybe you should start selling them!

Despite her disgruntled looks at wearing the collar, she is beautiful! Nice job on the collar.

Hurrah stitches out today altho she has to wear her collar for a day or two more. Poor little girl has also got cold/flu now so she's sneezing all over the place. Must have caught the damn thing at the vets. She's really been through the mill.

Poor kitty! I'm glad she's well along in her recovery....it really does seem unfair she's picked up a cold too!

I was in a Vet's recently and there was a dog with obvious kennel cough in the waiting room, it should have been taken into an isolation room immediately - or at least the other owner's warned - luckily I did not have a dog with me, but still changed and washed once I got home before I touched my dogs. I was amazed how no one seemed bothered!
Love the pink doughnut!!

Sounds like the vets are the equivalent to a doctors surgery!

Yeah the last time she had a cold she picked it up from the vets too When I used to go to the hospital for physio I always picked up a cold from there! Not sure if pink is the best colour for an e-collar. After a week of slobbering and sneezling on it and getting food and cat litter on it, it doesnt look quite so pristine as in the picture! ;D I better keep it tho - I may have to go thru the whole thing again in a year or two as she still has a couple of lumps they couldn't take off and even tho they're both small, one seems to be quite fast growing.

Its actually been warm and sunny the last couple of days (miracles will never cease!) and Rosie went out for the first time yesterday since her op. Here's a couple of pics of her enjoying the sun and rolling about in the grass. (if you go on facebook you may have seen 'em already). I'm just hoping things can get back to normal now - for a while at least.

Told you she'd roll about! Yeah unfortunately its usually where another cat has pee-d! The last couple of days have been lovely and sunny. Never seen so many people out and about here, its like a mass exodus of people who've been shivering indoors with the heating on for months. It was only about 18 degrees but felt about 28, as we're not just used to the heat this year. Mind you looks like its back to 'normal' tomorrow.

It was 17c today and I was cold! Though if I go out to the paddock and work there I feel the heat.

It was 17c today and I was cold! Lol better get in training for the UK. ;D It was about that on Saturday and there were men walking about with their shirts off (even I just had a t-shirt on instead of the usual 4-5 layers!) It actually felt red hot after the recent sub zero temps!

Cold and very grey today- see my new pets and vets thread. Want to go and feed Star early but can't get the bloody enormous chaff bag out of the car to open it. How's Miss Rosie, Claire? Her Highness Princess Lizzie will be in an Elizabethan Collar next week- Lizzie, named after Queen Elizabeth, in an Elizabethan collar...only just noticed the irony. Not smiling about it, though.

Thanks for asking about Rosie cally. She is doing well apart from the fact she has got her eye infection back in both eyes so she is having to put up with eye drops again. She wouldn't know herself if I wasn't shoving some sort of pill or ointment into her! However she is pretty fit, running about all over the place. Was even swinging from the curtains when she was playing! She's loving this heat wave (as am I). Good luck with Lizzie's op - hope she doesn't mind the collar too much!

Not good news on the Rosie front. One of the lumps that the vets didnt remove has been growing at a very fast rate and has now started to bleed a little. I knew I would probably have to take her in for another op to remove the other lumps but I thought I might have a year or at least a few months breathing space. Now it looks like she's going to have to go in again pretty soon. And its only about 10 weeks since the last op! I am really depressed to think of going thru that all again

So sorry to hear about Rosie. Whyever didn't they take this one out with the other one? Guess it didn't look bad then. Maybe they can really check her over this time and make sure they get them all.

Thanks for the support folks, its a bit of a shock after thinking I had a few months breathing space. Her fur hasn't even grown fully back from the last one yet!
Rally, she had a lot of lumps and they couldn't remove them all at once. They did a strip along the side which had the worst large ulcerating tumour and took off all the others which were on that side. There were 3 left they couldn't get at that time but owing to their small size thought it may be about a year or so before they got to a troublesome stage. But this pesky lump has just been growing really fast, about 3 times as fast as the other lumps did and its close to the surface so the skin is being stretched again. Its not actually ulcerating yet but I think it may be going that way. I think Rose has been having a chew at it which is what started it bleeding. Trouble is the hair drops off them, if it stayed it would protect them.
