OK having done some research I know now how easy it is to fall for this!! I was stupid enough to give my mobile number when entering the ITV Good Morning comp - having carefully avoided all the options to sign on for some subscribed stuff, I thought I was OK!
Then I started getting all these messages from this site called Juicy Win - at first I ignored them then I tried to stop them! Be warned, when you open them to try and stop them it obviously allows them to help themselves - they emptied my phone! Unfortunately I had just topped up £15 - which I only do once a year, and even if I could afford to top up again - which I can't, it looks as though they would just be able to carry on taking the money out!
So I need to change my phone number, but don't want to go onto one of these sims where although it is pay and go you have to pay a certain amount each month. Advice please and be warned it is waaay too easy to get your money stolen this way!

Do you have a smart phone? If you do, there are message blocking apps which block certain numbers and may solve your problem. There are free ones. I use one called Call Filter which blocks calls because I keep on getting PPI calls (no I havent had a loan or credit card!) and calls from Scottish Power (I am not with Scottish Power and I dont want to change electric companies). It supposely blocks text messages but I havent worked out how to do that, and besides I dont get spam text messages so it doesnt bother me.

I doubt Kunuma has a smart phone, if I know her she'll have something which is to the phone world what the box brownie is to the camera world! ;D Seriously tho, thats a bummer kunuma. Have you contacted your network provider as they may be able to do something about it? In the meantime here is a discussion about this problem. It seems that usually texting back 'stop' will stop them but if you haven't got enough credit left to text that will be no good! There's also a number/website on this link where you can report them. Might be some other advice too as I havent read the whole thread: whocallsme.com/Phone-Number.aspx/88288/2As far as I know the only way to get a new number is to get a new simcard, but I'm no phone expert. You can just get bog standard pay as you go sims with no strings attached.

Very interesting reading about others who have had their money stolen in the same way. What's more I'm not the only one who got their number taken from going on the ITV.com website!
Thank you ITV for allowing these scammers free rein - I thought I could trust your company - sadly not!

People are just s**te, aren't they? Except us and the Nice Miniority. I just can't get my head around theft in all of it's myriad forms and I'm slowly emptying my Trip to the UK Savings Account and now can't see myself ever fulfilling my life long dream- Star's going to eat it all up. I guess I would steal off someone rich lazy and nasty, like Gina Rhinehart, or someone who made their $ out of horse meat or something equally as loathsome, but then I'd plough it back into horse welfare anyway. People who knick money or stuff from any/everyone- I don't get it.

Kunuma you should blackmail ITV into paying the money back to you, if they don't tell 'em your going to the newspapers! Yeah I agree cally, in general people are sh*te
