and should come with free sunglasses My photo does not do the lurid colour it's full justice, it seriously is eye boggling. When will this pinkness trend ever end? edited to add the story itself, so far, is excellent. Attachments:

Ick! It clashes with the orangey-coloured bit of paper underneath it ;D I'm glad to hear it's a decent read though

You joke about health warnings on books, but not so long ago there was a concern that older books would simply be banned, forget warning labels, because of the possibility of lead-based ink. Read more hereBasically it would have been illegal to sell (even at a yard sale) any children's book published before 1985 and libraries would have to pull such books from shelves. Fortunately cooler heads prevailed

The edging really is glow-in-the-dark pink isn't it, haffy?
Still...it could have been worse, the whole COVER could have been that color! eeek!

I don't like glittery, pink covers, but actually I do like the pink edging on this book. I like the cover and the pink edging, I just didn't think much to the contents.

Crikey what a tragedy it would have been if 2nd hand books were banned! I'd be out of a job and we'd all have to find a new obsession! Thank heavens people saw sense for once!

Maybe not....people from the US would have been desperate! We would have been driven to buying all of our vintage books from UK/Canada/Australia and I can tell you postage is cheapest from the UK! Could have given a whole new meaning to book "dealer" ;D

I picked up that book in the library once simply because it said horse on the cover. The pink design did sort of give the impression that it was nothing more than a stereotypical girl's story, but luckily I was open-minded enough by then to read it anyway. I did enjoy it.
