In case anyone is wondering what the heck is going on here (also cos its impolite to speak in another language when others dont understand here is the translation of that piece of timeless spanish prose: hello exmoorfan, I am not too bad today, but very tired, thanks. And you? How are you? Not doing much today. I am going to read a pony book now. I really like pony books but seahorse really likes men! ;D Do you know how to say "hot men" in spanish? Talk later, your friend Claire (ok so nobody is probably interested...) BTW see me if your going on hols to spain and want some spanish chat up lines. My speciality! ;D

Hi, exmoorfan, glad you saw it didnt want you to think I was ignoring you! Took me ages to write it as I keep forgettin how things spelt I have to stop myself spelling voy as boy!! If I have a conversation it is in slow motion. Have still got to work everything out before i say it. Can't wait to get to the stage where it just comes naturally but that is going to be a while yet... Hablo otra ves pronto, Claire

Buenas noches exmoorfan. That does sound fascinating any particular reason or just out of interest? Is it difficult to learn? I'd love to be multi-lingual I want to learn italian next but will wait until I have mastered spanish. I think my brain would explode if I tried to learn 2 languages at once!

Hola Claire. If I had my time over I would definately learn more languages...I think if other cultures speak English we should at least try to speak theirs as a curtesy..It shouldn't be hard to say hello and goodbye in most languages and they seem to enjoy it if you do..French expect it and get funny if you don't I found.. Re the chinese its just some fun with my local Chinese takeaway.. The lad in there is chatty about most things and started to teach me.I was thrilled when he wrote my name in Chinese..! OK I know I'm sad..lol.. So I am learning a bit with the BBC..It is quite hard and mostly about the tone of how you say things.. Sorry to folks who think I'm potty..

Actually was a very interesting prog lots about history of spain as well as art. Was nice to see some of the places again, especially the Alhambra and Granada. Have you ever been there? Its amazing.

Buenas tardes! I find Spanish difficult enough never mind Chinese! Not sure what station the spanish progs were on. Think they may have only been 2 episodes but you can watch the 2nd programme on BBC iplayer at www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/search/?q=spain&go=Find+Programmes if you are interested. The first one has gone as they are only on for 7 days. Yes, I rewind them as well! I find the ones with the south american spanish dialect are much easier to understand. Oh well better get back to some more packing... Adios, Claire x

Muchas gracias Claire will look at the iplayer. I have just discovered this. It's great when you miss things. How is the move progressing.? Are your cats worried by the packing.?

Packing not going too badly, I have had a couple of helpers! House in a mess at mo with boxes everywhere, half the curtains down, etc. Actually the cats arent that worried they are used to upheaval as I've moved quite a lot in the last few years. They have been into or onto most of the boxes already!

I still live in my home town I have moved lots but in the same town. I hate moving but for the last few years have been buying houses to do up and sell so have moved many times. It was great when the house prices were booming but have actually made a loss on the last house (due to there being a huge property slump here) when I have taken off all the fees and things. I think its definitely time to get out of the property business!
