There are some horsey programmes about in the next week or so.
First of all on Sunday 3rd June there is "All The Queen's Horses: A Diamond Jubilee Special" which is supposed to feature horses and performers from all around the world. It's on ITV1 from 6.30 pm - 8.30 pm.
Secondly there is the horsey film "Spirit: Stallion of the Cimaron" which is a film about a wild mustang who is captured by horse traders, and sold on. It's on BBC 2 1.00 pm - 2.15 pm.

Did anyone see the Queen's horses one? I have avoided everything else to do with the Jubilee but I did watch that. What was with all the singing''''''''''''' I thought it was the Queen's Horses, not the Queen does Britain's got Talent!! Made me livid when they kept taking the camera off the horses doing the display and keeping it on the various butt ugly singers!! Still trying to work out what all that African stuff was doing in the programme - what did that have to do with horses?? I was thrilled to see Monty in the parade though!

I got bored the minute the singing started. Luckily I recorded it so I could fast forward the boring bits, of which there were many, and hit the mute button ;D

It was a half-decent programme, but yeah, the singing was a bit excessive for a programme with an equestrian slant to it!
I did see three or four big hairy horses in the line-up, though. Forgot the Sultan of Oman had a Clydesdale drum horse, too!

Well it is on ITV player but I can't watch it at the mo due to having dreadful broadband speeds for the past few days and can't get it to stream properly. I notice Alan Titchmarsh is presenting it, he's a bit of a pain but could be worse - could have been Clare Balding!

There's another horse/Queen programme this evening (5th) on ITV1 at 8.00pm Countrywise Jubilee which includes how the Queen saved one of Englands oldest breed of horse. Might be worth a watch.

Glad it wasn't just me who felt duped by the title of that one! Crappy cultural music event with token horses thrown in...as the queen is supposedly such a horse lover i do wonder why on earth those dancing horses were invited too!

Thanks for the info - will try and watch this on Iplayer - with the mute button at the ready!!!
I feel the Jubilee has passed me by - although it was on the news alot - even in Italy (where it was much sunnier than here)!!!

I enjoyed the Jubillee show, but did n't like the music much either
Spare a thought for the poor soldiers and police of some of the world's finest musical rides who were robbed of their own music which was written to suit the gaits of the horse and which gives cues for each movement. Hats off to them as each show appeared flawless.
A good show though, very varied, and very few people would have watched and not learnt something

Quite! A pity they had to endure that music.
