Some of you may have seen this photo on facebook, but oh well. I got a new kitty this week, Eric. He's 18 months old and he was found in a feral colony on a farm. Ironically enough the farm was not only in my parents village, but my 94 year old aunt used to own it. He has settled down really well, the only problem is that he weed on the floor once, but has been fine since. He is very confident, and is a right monkey, as he keeps on escaping from the kitchen where he is supposed to be locked in for a week (and has met Pickle, who fortunately does nothing but sniff him). He's also discovered the food cupboard and each time I open the cupboard door he's straight in the food bag. The only thing I have discovered so far he doesnt like is the sound of the tumble drier. Here is the photo of him I took. He wont stay still for long so it isnt the best, plus black cats arent the easiest to photograph.

Very cute! Seems very relaxed for a feral. Hopefully he and Pickle will soon become friends. Pickle must be laid back as there has been fur flying whenever I've introduced new cats to each other ;D

Thanks everyone. Pickle must be laid back as there has been fur flying whenever I've introduced new cats to each other ;D Pickle has been no problem - the trouble is when he has met Tigger. She hisses and growls at him, but I have not introduced them properly (when he meets is her is when he escapes), so I am hoping that given time she will calm down. Ironically enough it was Pickle that I was worried about, not Tigger as Tigger has been fine when I have introduced two new cats to her before. For some reason she seems to dislike Eric, who has done nothing but been good (he hasnt gone up too close or tried to attack her or anything like that. In fact I havent heard him growl or hiss so far).

Just wondering how Eric is settling in? Has Tigger taken to him yet?

Just wondering how Eric is settling in? Has Tigger taken to him yet? Tigger is slowly getting better, but not 100%. He is very confident and cheeky, and last night spent his first night on my bed. He has this habit of going around and around in circles, chasing his tail. Then he stamps on it as if to say "got it!". Like a dog does. I have never seen a cat do it.

Rosie does the same thing exactly! I haven't seen any other cat do it either. Thanks for the update. Glad he is settling in so well and hopefully Tigger will be OK with him very soon.

He never used to do it when he was in the pen in the Cats Protection, but then again they are pretty small (21 cm across - someone had to measure it once for a study they were doing) so perhaps he didnt have the space. He also uses the scratching post for his claws - the only one of mine that bothers with it!
