Talk about poetic justice, the number of times I've said to people who have taken on a new pup after a long time without a pup around, that they won't know what has hit them - done it to myself now! Just for added fun, my old dog HATES the new pup - can't blame him as it is like landing a 70 year old bloke with a toddler to play with, but not a peaceful household at the mo! #I'd forgotten that pups don't sleep through the night too - two weeks of sleep deprivation later and I've now def remembered that bit!!

Congrats! Yes, you do forget just how much energy pups have and how demanding they can be - mine is 2+years now and I'm still recovering

My puppy is so cute but still nippy and scratchy and the cats hate her. Also- and this is the worst- she just hasn't got the toilet training under control; in the past our other dogs would have had it sorted by now but our carpet looks disgusting! Will get a photo up soon...of the PUPPY, not the wee-damaged carpet...

Well pups are easier than computers at least! I've almost housetrained mine in the time it took to get back on the internet!! Plus she is almost sleeping through the night too!! She can do sit and down - now learning to walk on a lead as soon she gets to go into the big bad world for her first walk! Cally you and I are members of the p@pmbls - puppy and pony mad booklovers!

I love my puppy, but I actually prefer my cats in general- less needy and my male cat, Finn, is definitely a soulmate; we have a special bond, whereas the female kitten couldn't give a stuff about me and WORSHIPS my OH ludicrously! Love my horse of course, but he doesn't really give a stuff. and I admit that our pup, Lizzie, is the cutest dog in the world. No car next week so may commit to learning how to upload some pics!

YUK! She's losing teeth left right and centre and there's blood on her tennis balls and the kitchen floor! She had a bath on the weekend and IMMEDIATELY played in the mud puddle; at least she didn't find any poo or dead fish to roll on.

Well, my puppy is now almost 6 months old so is about as big as she's going to get and guess what? The medium/large sized hound we wanted is a midget. She doesn't even reach knee height on my 10 year old. Our last dog was Lizzie's current size at around 8 weeks. She's a kelpieXbasenji with a curly tail, bright chestnut and always has her gob open. Cutest thing you've ever seen, but ENDLESSLY excited and gobby, though not a yapper. She's no guard dog so we expect to be burgled any day now- they'll probably take her as she's so beautiful and comical. I'll try and get a pic up soon-if I can get her to stay still....
