I am off to Edinburgh and Yorkshire tomorrow - so you wont hear from me from most of the week. Not sure where we are going yet, except to Saltburn (I love piers, so I will be looking forward to seeing this!), Thirsk (to see the James Herriot museum) and Edinburgh obviously.

Have a good time garej! Thirsk is quite near me I would ask you round but I am off away for a few days too. I love Edinburgh, no doubt you will be going to the 2nd hand childrens bookshop at the bottom of the mile. Its not quite as good as the one at Wigtown but its still pretty great.

Just to add that I too am going away for a few days from tomorrow. I am taking the laptop so I won't be totally incommunicado but I doubt I'll be on much for the next few days.

Thanks folks, off later this morning. Going to the Lake District again to do some walking, now that I have recovered from my riding session! No big mountains for me tho.

Hope you had an equally good time on your hols garej! Yes I did, though very tiring and my feet killed me. Saw Edinburgh Castle, Holyrood House, bits of Edinburgh (either on foot or on a bus tour around the city), Saltburn pier, a bit of Hartlepool, and the James Herriot museum yesterday. Saw York yesterday too. Didnt go into any second hand book shops (didnt have the time), so didnt come back with any. But I saw Fidra's bookshop though. Weather was fabulous and very hot throughout the whole of the week though.

Try the link, someone on another forum once linked to their holiday photos, and even though I wasnt their friend I was able to see them.

I'll see if I can change the status or something to let non-friends see them. TBH there isn't that many as my camera went on the blink and I just took a few on my phone which doesnt have a very good camera. They were from the first day when we walked up Loughrigg Fell which is above Ambleside and when you get to the top you can see for miles. I took some of lake Windermere too but they seem to have disappeared from my phone I'll attach one of the pics here. EDIT Try this anyone who isnt on facebook: www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2338685840387.123829.1647143015&type=1&l=e439ef006aAttachments:

Glad the link works!
What was great about Loughrigg Fell was that from the top we could see Grasmere where we were staying last year and also Helm Crag which we climbed last year. Funnily enough it looked quite small from there but not when we climbed it! ;D But it was nice to see the places we'd been from a completely different angle.
