What is your favourite sub-genre/type of pony story?
Traditional means something that doesn't really fit in any of the more specific categories, stories like children saving up to buy a horse, improving their riding, running riding schools, going off to pony club camp, etc. Some examples would be Six Ponies, The Ten Pound Pony, I Wanted a Pony, Wish for a Pony, Jill's Gymkhana, etc.
Holiday Adventure is kids having fun with ponies on their hols, having the sort of day to day adventures such as building dens, camping, swimming, etc rather than the sort of adventures that involve kidnapping and stolen jewels etc! Just think Swallow and mAmazons with added equines! Some examples would include The Far Distant Oxus, No Mistaking Corker, We Met Our Cousins.
Mystery/Adventure IS the type of book involving kidnapping & stolen jewels and the like! Also includes crime novels such as Dick Francis etc.
The rest are self-explanatory.
I think it'll be quite interesting to see what sort of types of story are most popular.
