I saw this on the news last night - nice pony. Reading the article I'm concerned, why was he trying to get it treatment at a hospital? Hopefully people who know him will let the RSPCA know where he is so they can check the pony is ok. Maybe he was trying to take it to a vet. Actually, that reminds me of when Gill in Dream of Fair Horses is having trouble arranging transport and her dad asks why she can't ride the pony to London, because horses are meant to be transport after all . So dogs, and other small animals are allowed on public transport over there? Here they are not. Our society is very anti-pet . I'd rather my fellow passengers be dogs or even ponies than some of the feral humans you see .

Yes I was worried about the hospital bit too which seemed to be brushed aside in favour of the more sensational bit about him trying to get it on the train. Looks like a little Welshie pony and he looks like a gypsy (or as we now must call them 'travellers')
Can't believe they dont allow dogs on buses or trains over there jinglerebel! When they come on public transport here most people really like it and make a fuss of them. Mind you dont think I would dare take my cat to the vet on a bus as she usually has a poo in the carrier basket and it stinks - would be a tad embarassing!

Yes I was worried about the hospital bit too which seemed to be brushed aside in favour of the more sensational bit about him trying to get it on the train. Looks like a little Welshie pony and he looks like a gypsy (or as we now must call them 'travellers') It is definitely a Gypsy and he is called Joe (the man, not the pony). He was spotted in a pub yesterday not mentioned in article, ironically called The Nags Head (which has a horse on the sign). As it happened near me, I know quite a few people who have spotted it, but as yet, I havent. jinglerebel: the reason why he went to the local hospital, is that the story is going around that the man got into a fight, and the pony got glassed (the man was ok). Hence why the pony needed treatment. I have never taken any of my cats on the bus (which I could do as there happens to be a bus stop right outside Pickle's vet and the buses run every 12 mins during the day), but I did once take an empty cat carrier on the bus. When first adopted Pickle the space was urgently needed for another cat, but I had no way of getting him to my flat (as I cant drive due to medical reasons). So the manager said that one of the members of the Cats Protection could take him and me in the van to my flat. Which was fine, except for I had no carrier with me, so I had to borrow one of theirs. So I had to bring it back a couple of days later, so I took it on the bus. PS. There is now a facebook page:- www.facebook.com/pages/The-Travelling-Pony-of-Wrexham/
