On some pages you just use one giant image map for everything (for instance the Follyfoot Annuals and even the main page) which is rather . . . unusual. The issue is that it makes the page invisible to search engines as they have no way to index it. This is even more egregious on your squirrelbooks page where people searching for an item will never be directed to your site. Beyond search engines, it also makes the site harder to use for regular users. For instance, I was looking for the Marjorie Mary Oliver page. I went to the Authors L to O page and then did 'ctrl-f oliver' - "No results, oh well, guess they're missing that author." The 'Chat Forum', 'Books for Sale' and 'Read for Free' links on the sidebar of the homepage go to redirect pages when they should just link directly to the target. On the home page, the link to 'Books & Author Info' in the center section is wrong. On the Book & Author Info page, the email link goes to a personal yahoo.com account as opposed to the site yahoo.co.uk account on the home page. Also on that page, the 'Book Reviews section' and 'Pony Books for sale' links are incorrect. On the Squirrel Books page, the link for the text of 'Contact Us' is correct, but the icon directly above it (the teddy bear) goes to a blank page. Your ebay page has the old url for the forum (http://ponybooks.proboards78.com/index.cgi)

I've just noticed a broken link Claire. Since we've taken over the Follyfoot website things have changed about somewhat! Comic Strips are now here

Thanks rosie, I'll correct the link.
I'll have a look at some of the issues you mentioned Ally. The image map is because I started doing the website many years ago on an ancient version of publisher and thats how it does it, and have never had time to update anything. Some of the other issues you mention are thru this too but it would take too long to sort them all out. However the website has no probs with google search as its up at the top of the searches for many authors and books. Yep there's prob the odd broken link or two but no-one seems to have any problems finding authors. I am not an expert in web site design or programming so I just muddle thru ;D

...for all I know, this page probably exists somewhere, but a list of books published under more than one title and authors using pen names would be MOST helpful and save me some money now and then!

Rosie I've updated the link on the Follyfoot Annuals page, I also updated Monica Dickens page while I was at it and added the new reprint of Horses of Follyfoot. Not exactly on topic, but I may as well ask while on the subject - do you know if Andersen are reprinting Stranger at Follyfoot and if so when? ...for all I know, this page probably exists somewhere, but a list of books published under more than one title and authors using pen names would be MOST helpful and save me some money now and then! There is not a specific page or list but this information can be found on the website in each specific author page. I list the alternative titles of all books (if I have the information) directly beneath the original title and I also have an also known as box on the right hand side below the flag and above any links. So if you are wondering about a book just go to the page of the author in question. If people think it would be more helpful to have all this on one section I may get round to doing it, but it will be a lot of work so I'll only do it if I think it will be significantly easier to look up things that way rather than on the author page.

Sadly there are no plans to publish the last in the series at present They didn't give a reason but I wonder if sales haven't been good enough. I will ask again next year and keep asking!

Hi folks have fixed the incorrect links. If anyone sees any others please let me know. Regarding searching for a particular author I find the quickest way is to use the google search box on the author info page, just remember to check the ponymadbooklovers box or you will get everything on google!
Thanks for the info about the Follyfoot books Rosie - would be a shame if they didn't do the last one in the series.
