As Claire said it was okay here goes My initial thoughts are Hazel peels books in general (i know 3 are republished so easy to find now) but the ones I've read have all been a huge let down considering what they often cost... leaving out jago, Fury and Easter (all of which cost me more than the reprints ) and I would forward Nightstorm and Untamed. Diana Tukes - The road to Harringay (based on a true story apparently which make it worse - parts made my blood run cold that poor horse is all i can say!) Not that I've read it but I've heard a few people say water Wagtail is erm 'rubbish' and I've noticed in the past that one particular copy did the rounds on ebay several times exchanging hands at a high price but re- appearing not too long after which also makes me think the buyers were disappointed and wanting the investment back maybe? Jo furminger - some of the later Blackbirds books are hard to find/expensive when Pb's are not available and they are only moderate IMO April jaffe's Satin and Silk is another that can be erratically priced and usually very expensive and never have I come across so many cliche's in one book ;D controversially but i think Joanna cannan's Jean books 1st editions and sometimes others too are overpriced and not worth it either... Also Glenda Spooners Silk purse and Royal crusader - the first was downright weird in the middle and the second I lost the will to live about half way through.... Darkhorse nominated Rosette for Royal and I agree completely!

Well I will have to hide this thread if I ever have any of these books for sale ;D I dont think H M Peel is too bad. Easter is probably the worst, Dido and Rogue and Gay Darius are probably the best. Surprised you missed out Sheila Chapman haffy as I know you arent a big fan. They aren't too bad but they are very depressing.
I agree on the Blackbirds books. The first ones are quite good, but some of the later ones are very dull and sometimes you see them at silly prices.
Just got outbid on a copy of Silk Purse so maybe it was a lucky escape, but I still feel I should read it as some other people have recommended it.

Need some more suggestions for this one or won't be able to do a top 10 for it. Also need more nominations for authors who should be known better. Have added poll for 1 hit wonders - there's loads of them to choose from!

Luckily I very rarely pay much for anything so at least those which have been a let down havent been over-priced. I was also going to add Pictoee was a bit of a damp squib when I finally got a copy, but didnt want to stop people bidding on your copy on ebay haffy
