Thought it was time to start a new top 10. Who are the nastiest villains or characters you really love to hate? They don't have to out and out psychopaths: you can choose everything from snooty gold-diggers like Susan Pyke to cruel owners.
Strangely enough one of the nastiest characters I've come across in a pony book was I dont think even meant to be a villain - the father in Pony From Fire by Sheila Chapman. He really was awful, not surprising the poor girl had emotional problems with him for a dad!
Also really dislike Clare and Spencer in the Jinny books, especially when they steal the Osprey eggs. That teacher - forgot his name - who beats Jinny is also pretty horrible.

I'm reading Pony Club Cub for the first time and I can't say I'm very impressed with Mrs Rooke, the mother of Sarah and Lesley.

Having just finished Pony Club Cup I agree Sarah Rooke isn't a nice character...like mother, like daughter!

Just thought I'd let you know that pushy mothers are alive and well; went swimming this week and a girl of about 8 was having a private lesson. This involved a long analysis afterwards, and as I walked past I could hear the mother saying "even if it feels like you're dying, you've got to keep going".....felt sorry for the poor kid- swimming's supposed to be fun!

Terry from Blue Rosette for the live export he partook in (even if he did have a guilty Conscience afterwards and was a nice character in the most)

I always loathed Mrs Grunter in Jump to the Top and Charlie in Three Ponies and Shannon. Rosie, you have reminded me of another one in Follyfoot: Lewis who bullied Callie and gave her a dead horses hoof.

Yeah Lewis the Louse...yeuch! And he was one of the Nightriders who rode horses with wire bits in their mouths.
