Another top 10! Fav show jumping stories please. A couple I really like are I Rode a Winner and Show Jumping Secret. Your thoughts and ideas please.
BTW if you havent already don't forget to vote in the polls already up for fantasy and school stories. I am going to leave all the polls for top 10s open until the end of the top 10 discussion to try and get as many people to vote as poss.

Jump To The Stars is a good classic story of triumphing against adversity.
Not sure if Black Hunting Whip would qualify, but the scene at the show at the end (won't describe it in case of spoilers) is one of my favourite bits of any pony book. Sort of puts all other jumping competitions into perspective.
Jump For The Moon was my favourite Jinny at one point, as she actually becomes quite sensible and focussed when training Shantih to become a serious jumper.

The Milkman's Cob by June M Groves.
A classic story of a working horse ending up jumping at The Horse of the Year show.

What about Clear Round by Pamela Macgrgor Morris? I've just bought it but haven't read it yet Is it actually a showjumping story?

I really had to think about this one! Didn't realize how hard it was to separate, at least in my mind, the books that were really "show jumping", and not just hunter classes at a show.
Anyway, here are a few to add:
The Crumb by Jean Slaughter Doty is one of my favorite books of all time, and set in the show jumping world (the dark side).
Horsepower by Patsey Gray
Last Junior Year by Barbara Morgenroth
The Blue Mare at the Olympic Trials by Alice O'Connell (alas, another of those rare and expensive books)

Thought of another - Something To Jump for by 'can't remember' lol It's a massive country Life book.
Read another recently (inbetween vamp dairies) where there was SJ involved but can i remember what it was...
and I like Kit hunter but had forgetten them too - I can't imagine they would make a top ten though in all honesty!

They ran a riding school actually didn't they. She lived with her older sister and when she was taken ill she competed the horse...was it Dancing lady...to win money to keep the stables going or something but there was always the threat of the 'the Pig' aka the dealer who officially owned her taking her back

Hi folk, please ignore the 2 book poll attached! I accidentally pressed the enter key before finishing it and it published the damn thing. Stupid proboards doesnt allow you to edit polls so I had to set up a separate poll for the showjumping category. Most annoying! The poll is here: ponybooks.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=ponybooks&action=display&thread=1095Not sure if you can delete a poll either without deleting the whole thread. If anyone knows - haffy? - let me know please.

Not sure to be honest Claire - does the poll have it's own buttons like normal post do - is their the individual delete like you get on all posts?
Obviously on here I can only see the buttons related to my own posts other than quote.

There are no buttons that relate to either modifying or deleting the poll. Thought you might have done it on your forum haffy, but have since looked on the proboards help forum and it appears you can't change the poll at all after it has been published or even delete it without getting rid of the whole thread. Seems a bit silly to me!
