I got my Radio Times TV guide the other day, and whilst looking for The Wizard of Oz, I found 3 horsey movies that are on over Christmas.
I have only checked the main 5 channels, as I know not everyone has digital channels and not everyone has the same. So there may be more about.
The ones I found are:-
Spirit: Stallion of the Cimarron BBC1 21 Dec 11.00 am
Seabiscuit (according to Radio Times it is edited) BBC2 23 Dec 4.35 pm
Black Beauty (1994 version, the one with Sean Bean in) ITV1 26 Dec 11.25 am
Of course, there is a lot of listings out there, so I may have missed one or two (though if I doubt it), so please feel free to post more. Also, if anyone does want to post ones that are about on the digital channels, feel free to do so!

Thats really observant mysteryarab - I love spirit but tend to blub through most of it but I will look out for body language now. Is the black beauty film the one that is different to the book? because that one annoys me!

Is the black beauty film the one that is different to the book? because that one annoys me! No, it follows the book. The one that doesn't follow the book is the 1970s version with Mark Lester.

I used to watch the Cartoon Version of Black Beauty as a kid... all happy endings and sing a longs in that one. As soon as I read the book i was a bit shocked tbh!

I can't remember a cartoon version. Loved the 1970s TV show (before your time mysteryarab) but it had nothing to do with Black Beauty at al except that was the horse's name! TBH can't watch or indeed read Black Beauty as I find it too upsetting I have the DVD of Cimmaron somewhere must watch it again and watch out for the body language too.

Yeah poor spirit looks so dejected! Its all I could think about when I was watching it! Along with the music I was almost crying! And I never cry at films!

kingdomkigers.com/Donner_Spirit.htmlI remember that there was a bit more to the story, in that Donner had to be rescued after being sold by the film studio, but it does seem as though he is somewhere OK now! The horse movement in the film is b rilliant, the only part I did not like was their humanisation of the horses' faces, I actually think horses are better looking than people as they are!! ;D PS Did anyone see Olympia today and that wonderful little French horse - (well he was competing for Australia but I think he was FRench!)

Thanks garej I like that one. I used to love the black beauty series. kunuma - I only managed to listen to olympia as I was frantically wrapping presents before delivering them. Typical, there used to be a lot more coverage of it years ago and it used to make my christmas watching it. Does anyone else lift themselves off the sofa at every jump? My oh finds it hilarious to watch me watching showjumping.
