Not so much a thread, more a moan I suppose, but yesterday I left 2 ponies safely rugged, fed and esconced behind their electric fence. Came home one hour later to find chaos, something had panicked them into and then through the fence, which had obviously got tangled around one of them , they had vanished into the dark and rain, the fence was spread over acres of field, and I was worried sick that they were in bits as well. Eventually I recaptured two VERY scared horses, both still in one piece, thnak goodness, and it only took me three hours to get the fence sorted!! I have no idea what happened, but there is a footpath through the field, so I am always worried about them in there! Where are half a dozen horse mad teenagers when you need them!

Glad you got them back safely. Ah the times I've spent running around the countryside after loose horses! I know what you mean about wanting to have a moan. I felt like coming on here and pouring out all my troubles about my house move which is proving a huge never-ending nightmare. Only prevented doing it by my laptop konking out yesterday so now I have that to moan about as well. Maybe I should start at thread entilted "moans" where we can vent our spleen? It somehow makes you feel better to write them down!

My haffy thinks nothing of going through the electric fence if he feels that way inclined. Rhino hide I think as Murphy is petrified even when it's off. He is also very crafty and knows when it's off and if unsure tests it with his whiskers before leaning over or reaching under! Luckily he is still contained within the fields main boundaries if he goes walk about and is quite obliging about climbing back over the fence or going under it much to Murph's horror.

I Think Afra may have been reading this thread little s*d as after a very cross phone call from my friend who gets to put up with him, informing me he had recked the electric fence she spent hours putting up, he also broke in the feed room and pulled out all the bins so the other pony could have some as well. What was quite funny though was all the dropping were in a open stable (clever boy so he is well trained) She did ask me if there was a market for ginger rugs made with glue, and was not impressed when as a doting mum I said ah he must have been hungary.
