Thanks, I too missed that, what with the usual pre-Christmas busyness, etc. A good age, but sad to know there'll be no more books by her. Defo one of my favourite authors of all time. Maybe we could do a group read of one of her books to commemorate her...?

That's sad news. R.I.P. K. M. Peyton
Editing to add, doing a Peyton book for a group read is a good idea.

Thank you, susan, sadly still a little pricey for me! I do have a scan of this somehere. I am going to do some digging around to see if I can find it (also that of The Intruders for you susan - I haven't forgotten!) I've just about got everything sorted from the house move so hopefully I can locate the disc that they are on. If I can, I'll try to set up a way to make them available for people to read.

I know, decidedly not cheap....I have a copy, bought long ago....I don't remember exactly what I paid for it, but it was pricey even then. Crab is my favorite of the three she wrote as Kathleen Herald, if you find the scan for folks to read, I think everyone would enjoy it! And the Intruders...yes, please, whenever you find it! Back to the original thread, any thoughts on which Peyton book to do for the group read? Happy to go along with whatever the group chooses!

Hmmm...I looked down the list myself, and you're right, we've read a lot (that happens with a great author ) ...maybe Right Hand Man? It's been lurking in my tbr pile for years, I think it's the only one of hers I haven't read. It was actually the favorite Peyton, and one of the favorite books, of my local horse book dealer. Or if you happen to find Crab, I’m guessing that would go over well 😉

Apologies for being slow to update this thread. Have had some internet problems.
The Right Hand Man is a good choice. I also thought of Minna's Quest, first in the Roman Pony series, as it's a little different from the norm, also it's very easy to find and cheap. Let me know what you think folks and if anyone has a preferance.

I think I lean towards Right Hand Man, as it has stronger reviews and looks a bit meatier (and has been lurking in the tbr pile for so long ), but could also read Minna.

I’ll go with Right Hand man unless anyone has a problem finding it. In Spain touring Andalusia at the moment with only my mobile so will set up a thread in a few days when I get back.
