Hi all, meant to start this thread off a while back but got distracted by organising the mastermind comp.
Suggestions please for unusual or even downright weird book titles!
Some I find quite unusual include Circle of Blue by Eleanor Jones, Tears for a Tall Horse by Anne Wigley, Who Sir Me Sir by K M Peyton and Dear Busybody by Eleanor Helme.

These are probably two of the oddest:
A Boy and a Pig, but Mostly Horses by Sherman Kent
Melody, Mutton Bone and Sam by Lavinia R. Davis
Then there is the sub category of titles that have horses and ponies in odd places:
Pony in the Luggage by Gunnel Linde Horse in the House by William Corbin Rumble Seat Pony by C.W. Anderson Horse in the Attic by Eleanor Clymer
Some authors definitely went for off beat titles....Dorothy Lyons gave us Java Jive, Harlequin Hullabaloo and Bright Wampum, among others

"The Far Distant Oxus" - not an odd title in itself, but odd in that it is about adventures with ponies on Exmoor, not in Afghanistan as the title implies

Deep Water at Dereen is a strange title for a pony book. It's by Mary May. I own an copy but have yet to read it. All of Mary May's books are pony bar one and it's part of a pony series so I am guessing it is a pony book. If I hadn't known it is probably a pony book I wouldn't have thought it was a pony book judging by the title.

I hadn't thought of that one! The sequel, Escape to Persia, is definitely an odd one too (I love this series!)

All the 'Tough Enough' series titles by the Carolls except for Runaway Pony are a bit weird, (Tough Enough and Sassy, Tough Enough's Pony, Tough Enough's Indians, etc) though when you realise that Tough Enough is the name of a dog they kind of make sense!
I think one of the weirdest has to be Scudda Hoo! Scudda Hay! by George Agnew Chamberlain.
Garej made a good point when she said you wouldn't have thought Deep Water at Dereen was a pony book - I think it's a pretty good criteria for judging how unusual the title is when you can't tell if its about horses or not! The Oxus series fits that well, also Dorothy Lyon's books.

Ha! I'd forgotten that one, yes, definitely a weird one. He also did Overcoat Meeting. The only book I have by Chamberlain is his somewhat more conventionally titled The Phantom Filly, which is in the tbr pile (hmm.....maybe this is a sign that I should stick it into the summer challenge pile)

Horse Pie by Dick King-Smith is quite a weird one. Sweet Rock by Gillian Baxter certainly doesn't sound like it's a pony book, also Dear Fred by K. M. Peyton.

Shirley Faulkner-Horne wrote a trio of pony books about a brother and sister. 'Mexican Saddle' is a horsey title, but 'Parachute Silk' and 'Green Trail' are less obvious.
