Just a little add on to our reading group discussion. Quite a few of us said that we thought Jill Enjoys wasn't one of the best in the series which got me wondering which ones are people's favourites. So I thought it might be quite fun to do a poll to see which one/s are the most popular. You can pick up to 3 Jill books to vote for.

I haven't read any of the later ones -- can't imagine why I haven't worked to get this series read sooner. But of the early ones Jill's Gymkhana. I really have read that one a whole, whole bunch of times!

I have a thought that the books that are your faverits are often the ones we read first my first Jill was Jill riding club and is my faverit Jill, it seems to work for me most of the time.

Voted perfect pony (which has always been my fave), trek and Rosettes. I also like Riding club but can take or leave the others.
Interestingly Pony Jobs is my least favourite but clearly not a view shared by the others who have voted to date!

I agree with you Trixiepony, it's often the first book you read in a series which you like best. It was Gymkhana for me.

An interesting thought Trixie and Darkhorse. I wonder if its because for the most part the first book we read in series is usually the first and in a lot of series its the best book in the series anyway as some authors tend to fizzle out or lose interest after a couple. Or it may have nowt to do with that!
Well I voted for Stable as I always have a soft spot for kids running their own stables (THE ambition of my youth!). I chose Trek cos I also like trekking stories and it was a bit different from the normal Chatton set stories. I am also one of the pro-Pony Jobs lot. Except for the infamous 'secretary' incident however!
Not sure which one I'd put at bottom of the list, possibly Rosettes. The two sisters are irritating and even tho Jill is not my all time favourite character I did feel sorry for the way they duped her.

It's good you bumped it up, cause I had forgotten! It got your favorite another vote too, because Stables is one of my favorites as well. I'm a sucker for "kids running a riding school/stables" books.

The ones I like are the ones where Jill isn't all for winning Stables Jobs and club. There is a show at end of both stables and club but Jill is in it to have fun in stable it's more for the horses and with the club one she's more thinking of the enjoyment off the club members than her own.
