Perils of any reading circle/book group really! How many people could you gather online or in a room who would all just HAPPEN to have a copy of ANY particular book?
Anyway, back on topic....I'd definitely pick a book that is thought of as good over one that is "not too terrible"! So, for me, I'd go with Perfect Distance, For Sale or Swap or Brazen Horse...I've read Perfect Distance, and it really is excellent, so I don't mind a re-read, and I've heard good things about both For Sale or Swap and Brazen Horse, so either is would be fine.
I checked online though, and I can't find any copies of Brazen Horse outside the US (maybe your copies would be enough though, Claire) The Perfect Distance and For Sale or Swap are available in both the UK and Australia.

I like the sound of for Sale or Swap as someone said it was an old fashioned pony story - needless to say I don't have it though...........

Maybe I am prejudiced but I didnt like For Sale or Swap much. Basically she gets shot of her pony cos he's not posh enough. Smacks too much of the modern horsy attitude for my liking. But I know a lot of people like the books and hey I dont mind a bit of debate! Its a tad easier with a normal reading circle where you can pop round and drop off a book for someone rather than hoping the Royal Mail can actually get it there! The Perfect Distance is available on Amazon/ebay cheap. For Sale or Swap a bit more expensive and slightly harder to find here. But that one would be easy for any of our Aussie readers if they wanted to join in. Maybe we should count up how many copies of each of the books we have between us and choose the book with the most! ;D

Oh dear, dumps her pony because he isn't fancy enough....it sounds like another book I hated, an American one called A Horse Like Mr. Ragman (I wanted to BEAT the girl in it!).

Yes I read some of that one susan and felt the same. In the old days it was only the baddie characters like Susan Pyke and June Cresswell who would do such a thing, now its the main characters in the books. Makes it hard to identify with them.

Mmm yes I didn't like the first two of her books for that aliment, I relay Like Alyssa Brugman's pony books but all I now have is Hot Potato, Hide& Seek and Greener Pastures.

I don't know anything about these new-fangled modern pony books of which you speak, so will go with whichever you choose.
I don't even mind if it's rubbish, as I enjoy a good rant.

Well that's put me right off Sale or Swap - and I've gone and bought a copy of Perfect Distance - well while I was on line spending a fortune on supplements for hoof growth (don't ask!! ) thought I might as well go for broke and buy another book, that's it though, what with Breaking Dawn and now this one, I have banned myself from ebay for the rest of the year! So hint, my vote is now for Perfect Distance.

Well I would certainly not mind reading that one either, bit skint tho so if someone could lend me it after they have read it....another hint. hint ;D
If no-one else has objections and we can manage to sort out the copies we have amongst ourselves, lets go for that one.

Good choice, Susan recommened it ages ago and I throughly enjoyed it when I eventually bought a copy. Btw mine was a less than a £1 jobbie off amazon depending on whether your pro or anti right now...
I'm actually re reading breaking dawn right now (like it better this time too!) but will read it again next as almost at the end.

I'll see if I can find a cheapo copy on Amazon, otherwise I might be scrounging from someone. Haffy I think you, me and kunuma will have to have our own mini reading circle for Breaking Dawn!

Mine hasn't come yet - when it does I'll read it straight off and send it off to you Claire. I'm dying to discuss Breaking Dawn now, but have a feeling we might need to do it in the members only section -------------------

I'm puzzled as to how that happened exmoorfan. Normally when it is bought the listing disappears, unless they had multiple copies listed and had less copies than they thought. Oh well I hope someone gets a copy anyhow so we can get on with reading the flippin thing ;D
