Yes I think its time we had a good disagreement on here! ;D
There's a bit after she had just been kidnapped, where she is imagining her parents' reactions, and she is just imagining what her mum says, then she imagines her being sidetracked by Yuri needing something - I think that is telling.
Yes but what its telling us is that she is very self-centred. I dont think for one minute that would actually happen, its what she imagines happening cos she has got a 'poor little me' complex and is jealous of her brother. I think she is extremely immature and hasn't learned any empathy at all, or she would be imagining her parents frantic with worry - as they no doubt were. She seems to have the emotional development of an 8 year old rather than a 14 or 15 year old.
They didn't look for her very hard!! She appeared to be out in public all the time with no one even noticing
The book never really went into that aspect of it at all so we dont know how hard her parents looked for her, and I think the fact that she was out and about and not discovered was a bit of a plot hole, unless as haffy said it was taking place in a different country - but even so news is worldwide now and you would have thought someone would have spotted her.
btw I was a bit confused as to how he did actually kidnap her
Was this mentioned in the book at all, maybe the letter, don't think it was - will have to re-read that bit.
So is it just me who thought the heroine was awful? Did everyone else sympathise/like Jacky....? Haffy? Darkhorse? Anyone else who read book?
