Wahoooy ;D ;D ;D I got a new horse, she's on loan, her name is Bella she's a 15.2 cob x hackney. I haven't rode her yet as she's been out of work for a while so I'm taking it slowly. She's got bad sweet itch so I'm going shopping for a rug tomorrow (and some other stuff might fall into my basket too ;D)

That's got to be Duchess, Black Beauty's mum!! That's what I love about blacks, the shine you get on their coats! But Zoe, what is that strange thing in the middle of the field???

what is that strange thing in the middle of the field??? Do you mean the thing that is sticking out of Bella's back? I think it is the gearstick but as Ihaven't rode her yet I'm not sure ;D Lol it's a tree at the bottom of the field that has had all it's branches cut off. I didn't notice it in the pic before, it looks funny now you've pointed it out!

Oh, she's lovely. I've always thought a hackney x would be fun to ride - all that action!
Here's to long and happy years together.

Oh, she's lovely. I've always thought a hackney x would be fun to ride - all that action! Their trot can be bloody awful, I rode a horse who was a Hackney x cob who was like that. But I also rode (more often) an American Shetland who also have Hackney type action who had a trot, but that was great to sit to.
