Has anyone else been absolutely glued to this? It really was so well done this year, at long last a presenter that doesn't dumb down the info and hence you actually learn things while watching it! I'm really sad that it has ended!

OT again but has anyone being watching the animal rescue thingy on BBC...my vets were on yesterday with the Swan at Southwell. I have to admit I preferred it this year with chris packham, but then I'm biased as I've always enjoyed watching things with him in it.

I remember the mohican and also Terry Nutkins. (having a giggle over your meeting him haff) I think he was on Animal Magic with Johnny Morris first wasnt he? I know...ancient history... I was prepared to dislike Chris P because I remember him being quoted as anti-cat and saying something along the lines that stray cats should be culled because of their danger to birds. But I quite liked him. Tho I'm probably in the minority cos I preferred it with Bill. But what is it with the hair? all the presenters (except poor old Simon) seem to have copious quanitities of it (this is from someone who was called 'the girl with the big hair' from people at work who didnt know my name lol)

I did like Bill in the first series of Springwatch but he sort of lost the plot at the end I think. Apparantly he suffers from severe depression which is why he couldnt do this series. I did like him on the older stuff he did before Springwatch, I think it was called Bill Oddie goes Wild. It was a sort of precursor to springwatch without as much murder I loved the Goodies too Rosie do you remember the episode with the giant kitten Kitten Kong. What a classic! Anyway I still have 2 episodes of Springwatch left to watch due to iplayer konking out! What were your fav bits ladies?

I didn't know he suffered with depression. I watched him in those earlier nature programmes he did and enjoyed them but there was one he did recently that wasn't as good, where he was in his own garden some of the time, I just had to switch it off! Oh yes that huge kitten And the enormous flat caps ;D

And the enormous flat caps ;D Wasnt that the one where they were thumping each other with black puddings? It was a real take off of us up t'north. Oh and I loved the one where they went up the beanstalk too. I have them all on DVD

Oh no, we will be on to Monty Python next - ex parrot anyone? - the oldies are still the best, just watched the reshowing of the Fawlty Towers series, it's still funny! Best bits of Springwatch - seeing how many Smiths tracks Chris Packam could name in one programme, laughing at the distinct spark between him and the dizzy blonde, .............. oh yes, and then there was the animals!! ;D For me had to be the stoats and the foxes, also the guy who had built nest boxes and cameras for the swifts, they are astonishing birds and I have never seen one!

The bit that makes me cry with laughter is where Basil bashes his car with a tree branch. I've wanted to do that many a time with some of the old bangers I've driven. I think it was...ee, ecky thump and trouble at t'mill. But people in them days always seemed to wear flat caps. You see them in old TV programmes doing building work up scaffolding with their flat caps on, no safety ropes, even eating their sandwiches. We get swifts where I am Kunuma and you hear them before you see them as they screech while they fly around. But having said that I haven't seen any this year so far.

Yep loved Monty Python and Fawlty Towers too must have a thread where all us ancient dinosaurs can discuss the programmes. ;D Oh I heard about the Smiths thing too but as I was never I fan I never got any of the references. I loved the stoats too, Wales looked gorgeous as ever (altho those midges!!!) i also liked that cat that kept appearing when they were trying to film something more exotic! But I could do without the insecty bits and the wasps. Sorry Chris but when you said you made the habit of keeping live wasps nests in your living room you lost your chance with me! (I bet he is heartbroken lol) Scariest moment: that cuckoo chick!!!
