Lovely pics Claire.
Are we looking at same pic as the chestnut i am looking at although striking looks dipped backed...or he is so high whithered and bum high (if a youngster) he just looks this way at min. Is he not a tadge too light through body for a proper welsh cob too?

Haffy you are right the chestnut didnt have the best conformation but he was very striking and had a lot of presence. The class was actually for Cs and Ds I would say he was the only C in the class, hence being smaller and lighter.

Gorgeous photos - I do like the bay in the second Welsh cob photo and the chestnut in the first is gorgeous (pity you couldn't zoom in on his handler)!

lol sarah, unfortunately I wasnt in charge of the camera or would have had more pics of the chestnut (and handler!) ;D The bay welsh cob I think won the class in the end.

Some friends I made in a field when on holiday in the Peak District recently: Bored and inquisitive, came over to say hello This one was really friendly And really pretty All pose together now aaaaahhh I REALLY liked the dark dapple grey and still think about him lots now.....finally decided that I liked the names Merlin or Cassini for him. On a side note, is it acceptable to feed other people's horses in fields? My friend had some Polos, but I said it was best not to give them as the two greys looked quite young and might get bad manners. But I felt bad as they came over to see us and didn't get anything apart from some pats and cooing.

Lovely photos Sarah and foxglove. If they were my horses I wouldn't like people giving them titbits for the reasons you stated. I have seen notices put on some fields saying please don't feed the horses.

Hmm I agree with you, I personally wouldn't mind, but I know some people at the stables can get very funny about it, especially if their horse has a habit of nipping, so best to avoid. I'm sure they loved the attention, their araby heads are gorgeous. Edit: I feel like I should add to the thread. This is the only horse I get to see. He commands my entire attention life! Look at his fat grass belly

Love Buster! I would agree re. the feeding. I don't tend to feed other people's horses for the same reasons, altho its hard to resist temptation sometimes as you feel so mean! Also sometimes if theres more than one horse there can be a bossy one which will maybe bully the others to get to the treat! The exception is when I come across a horse in the middle of nowhere when out walking in the dales, its obvious there's not going to be enough people coming past feeding titbits to make them nippy so they sometimes get a bite of an apple or a mint. Saw a gorgeous dun the other day but had no camera with me!

Love the pics..... I'll have to post mine someday. I take pictures for reference....model horse painting, so I am also taking lots of pony pictures. There are Aussie's on here too right?? I am looking for a Taffy(Silver Dapple) or Appy marked Brumby. Need to find some proof that they come in those colors.

MysteryArab your horse is lush! I am a right sucker for a bonny chestnut, especially when they look like they've had an accident with a tin of white paint.
