Hey you lot I wanted help to AVOID temptation!!! Trouble is what will I do with 2 cats when I am living in the Canaries every winter? Thats the only thing that is stopping getting me any more pets. I would have had a few more by now if I wasnt planning on it, believe me. BTW for the geographically challenged amongst you yep yorkshire is 'up north' quite a bit further up than the Midlands. Anyone got any friends up here...she says clutching at straws.

You need a friend to come up and house and cat sit for you every winter! ;D Mysteryarab, my geography is also appalling, my excuse is that I have never travelled, but I have learnt tons about Yorkshire since 'meeting' Claire. She even managed to get her town on TV specially so I could see it! I had no idea it was so big before - I just knew it was somewhere past Bristol!! However, they are also trying to lay claim to King Arthur up there, now that I am not standing for!!

You need a friend to come up and house and cat sit for you every winter! ;D ( Are you applying for the job kunuma? What would you do with your menagerie? You'd need someone to babysit them unless you brought them all up here ;D I would miss the cats too much tho. I'm pining after a week away, so I'm not going til I have no animals to worry about. Re. Arthur...I know 'nowt' about that, as we say up in t'dales ;D

Have you noticed that King Arthur seems to have lived everywhere tourists go? ;D Thanks Claire for clearing up exactly where Yorkshire is. I once said Birmingham was up north and was greeted with howls of laughter from friends so I'm very cautious in describing anything North of Watford now as Up North

Its alright you can have King Arther- We have Robin Hood And seriously go for the kitty! It will make you happy, therefore any inpracticalities are abolished And if Kunuma and Zoe both can't cat sit, I'll be the 3rd back up!

Well I could never put an animal in the hold of a plane. My luggage has gone AWOL more than once and the thought of it happening to a pet is horrendous...also I think they would be so frightened. Plus living on a boat, I think a dog would cope as I could take for walks but I dont think it would be fair to a cat not getting on land. Hmm may start a thread about transporting animals abroad and see if anyone has any experience. TBH cant imagine living without a pet at all, altho in some ways a lot easier and less stressful!

lol lily not yet but I am hoping to buy a yacht and spend the winters living on it in the canaries. The original plan was to have a 2nd home there but I lost so much money in the property crash it has been downsized to a yacht. But at the rate the economy is going I may end up with a tent ;D Anyway that is why I dont want to get any more pets as I dont think its feasible with them

But kittens are soooooooo cute - it would be impossible (and rude!) to turn it down. Just think of all the hours of fun you'll have watching it - the perfect time-wasting activity!

Haha everyone have avoided the danger! The kitten has got a home. What a relief. Also I can play with the one the neighbours are keeping. It was out on its lead today it is the cutest little tabby. Me and the little girl were playing with it while Rosie watched with a mixture of fascination and horror. It was so funny, when it saw her it fluffed itself up and arched itself and spat at her like a real little warrior. It was especially funny considering Rosie has already wiped the floor with its mum and auntie cat and is the big boss cat of the neighbourhood. ;D
Nice to have the fun but not the responsibility!

In the words of Victor Meldrew - I do not believe it! After resisting temptation from my neighbours kittens, she has let her still un-neutered queen cat out again and it has once more got preggers!!! I can only thank providence that I am moving out next week. The kitten from the previous litter which they kept is now huge! It is going to be a ginormous tom cat. Just hope she gets that one done before she lets him out Anyway must try and get a pic of him before I go.
