Congratulations. Horse Deals have a website, but there is a lot of horses listed under $1000 though. Maybe you can find the link to your horse? www.horsedeals.com.au

Lucky you! I buy Horse Deals every month and go through it marking off the 'possible' ones and she was one of them! I'm so jealous- doubly so because you live in Tassie where I want to move to. Oh well, one day...

Now that's a mare with good conformation in my eyes!! What a fabulous Christmas present! When is she coming? I looked at the site and if I have worked out the exchange rate right - hope so, just bought a whole load of pet supplies from there - horses are much cheaper over there! She would be at least ten times that over here I should have thought! Kept thinking that she really looks like she could be called Firefly! What is her name really?? Keep us updated!

$1 Aus is about 40p at the moment so yes-she's a GREAT buy I think in anyone's currency! I'm very jealous... It is true horses are cheaper generally down here but there are a lot of them due to indiscriminate breeding- big paddocks, sometimes thousands of acres big - and they are still used as working animals on properties. Food and water are seasonally scarce & so at times the market gets flooded, but a lot of the time the horses are unrideable due to injury or have never been ridden or even touched! Charliedeanna has struck gold though- that's the type of mare I'd want to have over a more expensive but less loveable (and rideable!) horse. Best of luck to you both- start a blog!!!!

At the RDA Deb the Horse Manager just signed the papers for an arabX mare on Thursday, and Friday morning when I went in she'd gone lame! Another for the sick list- just as well it's hols for the horses.
She also bought a sweet grey Welsh X called Thomas who is very talkative- nuffles and neighs at you even when he's 2cms away from you. He's only about 11hh so maybe a Welsh A or B? Hmmm-could almost fit him in the back of my Suburu 4x4....
