I think we must do a Jill book - preferably the first one The first one I think everyone likes, I feel like we should do one of the later ones where Jill starts to get up some people's noses or maybe we could do book 1 and compare and contrast with one of the later ones like Jill Enjoys Her Ponies or Pony Jobs for Jill. My personal favourite is a Stable for Jill, I've always had a soft spot for books about kids running their own riding stables. Tintin (or anyone else who likes Jill and is on Facebook) have you joined the 'Republish Jill' FB group? They are doing a group read of all the Jill books, also at a very slow pace so can be fitted in with a busy lifestyle (or reading list!) In typical fashion i actually like the later ones better on the whole. Jill and the perfect pony is my favourite (maybe why i dislike her so much!) - read it until it literally fell apart as a child. I generally like 'competition' type stories though. I also liked Jill's Riding club, Rosettes for Jill (again maybe influenced my perception of her) and Jill's pony trek...the others i could take or leave even back then...Pony Jobs getting a big thumbs down from me. Just never liked it much.

Yes Tintin that was who i was thinking of and my bank balance doesn't like some of the saddles that would possibly fit as they are expensive, even by side saddle standards! I'm quite tall/long legged and she's small and short backed...not a great combination for aside!

I think it would be good to do the first (Gymkhana) and the last - to compare. I suppose Pony Jobs is the las treally although Trek from the opening paragraph would seem to have been meant to have been written last.

Just read the first two Jill books and really, really enjoyed them. Especially the second.
They are quite different to anything else I have ever read and they put a smile on my face

Glad to hear you are enjoying the Jill books, my favourite is the second. If you keep reading them see if you feel the same way about Jill later on in the series as we are in two camps here about whether we like the later Jill or think she's a self-centred pot-hunter. I still cannot believe I have not organised a Jill book for the reading circle. Must rectify that in the new year!
