I have just begun reading this and was surprised to find a familiar name in there. The young Georgette was friends with Joanna Cannan. This explains somewhat why her horses and dogs always had distinctive characters!

Oh thats interesting Vera. I must say I'm not a huge fan of Georgette Heyer but there are one or two of her books I have enjoyed. And you're right she did have some good animal characters in the books.

It is interesting. Don't think I'd like her books, but my mum has also read some of them. I don't know whether liked or not.
