Here is a game that can go on forever......
1. Pick up the nearest pony book (or if you dont have one, go to your nearest bookshelf/bookcase and pick one at random). 2. Open to page 123 3. Find the fifth sentence. 4. Post the next three sentences.
Dont forget to say which book it is and who it is by!
Obviously if has less than 123 pages then you will have to choose another one!
Mine. I actually have 17 pony books nearest me, so I picked one at random.
"He could review in peace what had taken place, and could even smile over the extravagant behaviour of the reporters.
'Just like a bunch of kids!'
One thing his mind kept returning to as he drove his straight courses, and that was the remark let fall by the Group Captain:
'I'd like to do something fo you one day.' "
It was taken from "Flying Horseman" by Primrose Cumming.
Your turn!

Nicholette had to stifle a giggle as she saw her brothers' faces.Martin looked anxiously at Benedict to see if there would be an explosion, but he had only turned a shade paler, he was too polite to object. He said "Very well then," in a cold and resigned voice.

From one of my fav books The Trick Jumpers by JPT.
My turn...
The boy who was placed first was riding a lovely grey pony of eye-catching showiness, long stride and impressive action, and nobody was surprised he had been given first place, but when it came to reining back this pony proved impossible and would not stand in line. The judges waited for him for what seemed ages, and at last when he backed violently into the girl who was quietly sitting in second place a judge came over and said "Line up and stand please." At that moment he had to skip for his life, and his patience being exhausted he then told the girl and me to move up one, and sent the boy into third place.
(Phew long sentences!)

Like the sound of number 2. Mrs Travers rings a bell. "Benny set the horse into a canter. He took the first barway without seeming to lift himself at all to get over it and, without slowing his pace, he kept on through the orchard and over the barway at the other end. At the far side Benny reined him in, swung him round and brought him back over them again."

Torn between "Rosettes for" or "Enjoys her ponies" going to go for the second?
Here's a new one
""There's something here about cats. Listen. The cat is an ichthyophagus and carniverous vertebrate, which will also sell it's soul for a saucer of milk. It has nine lives and clings to them all." It's an advertisement for fertilizer.""
PS I had no idea this would be so tricky - or that it would be about cats!!!!!!!!!!! I honestly picked up the book at random, promise!!
