OK - a question for in hand show persons (Seahorse?) It is a long time since I showed horses in hand - but I remember it was for youngstock, under 3, stallions, or mares with foals. To answer a question I was asked, and wasn't sure of the answer, "What can you show an older, but not RIDDEN, pony in? Is there an in hand class for natives, or show ponies that are not breeding stock or youngsters?" I didn't think that there was, but didn't know for sure.

Hi kunuma, Within the native breeds you can show older ones in hand..Either a gelding class ot a dry mare..Sometimes they do veterans too.. Hope this is what you wanted.?

Hi Kunuma,,, Welsh are so numerous that they are often catered for in there own right .. I know local shows have classes for PB welsh but not sure about county having only showed pure natives.. The breeds shows have classes for all usually..ie; welsh .exmoor, dartmoor etc

Are you talking county level or local Kunuma? Locally there will be conditioned classes and maybe best part bred, turn out in hand and a lot of novelty ones like bonny pony too (although I think if you are over about 8 it is officially classed as pot hunting to enter this one ;D)

I think she wanted to do both - one of hers is bred the same way my girl is, sort of a Welsh show pony! The other is a Dartmoor. I can do pot hunting - I miss winning rosettes! I'd show mine - but she won't fit in the car!! ;D

Hi kunuma,, If she is a welsh show pony she could posible do show riding pony too.? Lots of the show ponies are pb welsh. The best thing to do is to pick the type of show you wanted and send for a shedule.. The rules will be in that..
