A seasonal wordsearch for you. Can you find the 27 words hidden in the grid - all are either book titles or the names of equine characters and all are in some way related to Halloween and spooky goings on. Bonus points if you can tell me which books the horses featured appeared in! There are also a number of Halloween related words which will be spelled out by the remaining letters once all the titles and horses have been found. More bonus points if you can spot these! Usual one at a time rule applies. Click on the attached pic below to see the full sized wordsearch grid. I'll update it as words are found. Answers also below. WORDS FOUND:

Well done Brumby for finding those. Also well spotted Rosie - Zombie is one of the non-pony Halloween words hidden there. Have updated the grid to show what have been spotted so far and listed the titles with their authors. If you need clues why not check out the Top 10 spooky books thread Don't forget there are also a few horse names in their which are somehow related to Halloween and its customs.

I can find October who I think was a horse in one of the PT's books. Don't ask me which one! Is this one of the words, Halloween being on October 31st?

Mr Magic?

Good going everyone! The Witch is a horse from Riders on the March by CPT, Candy is actually a separate name - its Candy from the Ponyseekers triology (trick or treat = candy, OK maybe a tad tenuous) and October is indeed from a PT book, Plenty of Ponies. Mr. Magic is a horse from the Riding Academy series by Alison Hart, one of which is also set at Halloween!

Here are some clues for the missing words:
Book Titles:
*A Saddle Club title (one for Gaby perhaps!) *Something a witch or wizard would cast - by a USA author initials BL *2nd in a Twilight series (not the vampire one!) *A horsy bad dream perhaps? Fantasy novel by an American author initials PA *Spooky story by a British author initials EJ runs downwards
Horse names:
*There are 2 'Devilish' names of horses, both found diagonally *One name could be a witch's familiar and appears in a very popular 2 part British series *An insect *Home of the above! *A water horse

I've just been waiting on someone else to answer, but since we're in the clue phase now maybe it won't be too bad of me to go ahead:
Stable Witch 4th column, s in top row.

Spell, going backwards second from bottom line
|
|
|
Post by Claire on Nov 3, 2013 21:26:55 GMT 1
Rosie, Spell is the 3rd word in the book title so nearly there! Darkhorse, Spider (from Star Riders of the Moor) is correct. Rally, the one at a time rule doesn't have to be followed too stringently. If no-one answers for a few hours its perfectly fine for the same person who answered last to have another go. Its really just there to stop people coming on and giving 10 answers at once!
