umm, Claire what happeneed to my questions? I know I did really badly in Round One! Hi Vera, well I am noted for my 'deliberate mistakes' but for once its not me lol. You were looking on the 2012 thread not this years! I have 'stickied' the thread so it is at the top of the list of posts.

I've pm'd my answers....some were pure guesswork, I'm afraid...I'm continually surprised at my ability to forget details of a book that I'VE JUST READ!!!!

Susan you did extremely well, so some of your guesses must have paid off!

Just sent off mine - did pick a book I know by heart so could do most of the story ones ok, but why did I not remember there are always questions about illustrators! I do wish I could find the village in the book - it's supposed to be down here somewhere after all!

LOL.....I just checked your pm of my answers, and (as usual) my guesses were mostly wrong! Like kunuma, this is a book I know mostly by heart (I couldn't duplicate the performance with any of the other books in the series!)

Yes I always do at least one question about publication/illustrations, etc. Lol kunuma can't believe you forgot to check the web page after our conversation last week! Also no matter how much you know the book its impossible to remember every detail as I found out when I did Pony Club Camp as my specialist subject on the mastermind revenge one year. It is supposed to be hard - as is the original mastermind so I think everyone can pat themselves on the back for doing so well.

Just pm'd my answers, in two sections because I did not cut and paste correctly. Advancing old age, witness me not finding the correct thread which I did in the end!

Thanks to all who have sent in answers. I will send marks tomorrow as my laptop is having a hissey fit today and I'm going to have to give up on it before I hurl it thru the window!

Well done Haffy, I don't know how you do it!
My trouble is I can only ever remember things I'm interested in, so can remember daft things like colours of horses and breeds of dogs, but never more complicated things - like for example who wrote it or what it was called!!

Wow thank you, i'm quite shocked!
I've got to own up to a couple of very lucky guesses in the general knowledge round - the pit pony answer being one that was a complete stab in the dark and a bit of luck with the Monica Edwards question - alongside a further spot of luck of owning/having read several of the books questions referred to.
Oh and of course a bit of genetics coaching from Kunuma helped me with the question about flaxys parents colours (see i do listen to you sometimes and occasionally understand/take onboard!)

Yes, very well done to haffy - but I must also give some congratulations to vera who did extremely well in the specialist round with only 1 incorrect answer!

I got that one on genetics too having never heard of the book!! But tried to be a bit too clever as I decided Ginger must be a Suffolk Punch!!

Was that the pit pony question - it said working horse or pony which made me think pit pony as i couldn't think of any other type of working pony who might have featured in a book and i figured the fact it said pony and not just working horse might be indicating it was a pony Claire was using.

Well done Haffyfan & everyone. Are you going to put up the answers to all the specialist rounds Claire? Curious about some of the other answers. Hi yeah I'll try and get them up soon. Not had much time lately due to trying to catch up on all the time I've lost going back and forth to vets and looking after the blinking cat!

Well done Haffy! I didn't too well this year. It was my own fault because I was too lazy to re-read The Hermit's Horse. I thought I'd be able to remember most of it from the group read....but I was wrong!

Lol darkhorse - I couldn't remember most of it from doing it in the reading circle either!
Sorry folks I did try to add the answers but the weirdest thing happened. Don't know what I pressed but just as was on the last subject the forum disappeared and I got a little symbol in the middle of the page and it wouldnt go back to the post I was working on! Very annoying as it had taken about half an hour to copy and paste all the answers. I may add them later if I have a bit of spare time.
