Its asked me for my birthday TWICE in the last 2 times I've logged in. Its obsessed with people's ages!
I don't like the way you can't click on reply when you get the list of recent posts up. You have to open the whole thread up to reply and it goes automatically to the beginning not the end. Or am I missing something?

I'm glad you said that Darkhorse it drives me up the wall too. I wondered if there was a way around that.

Yeah you two, thats one moan I forgot to add. There doesn't appear to be a way round it either. Its almost as if someone at proboards sat down and worked out as many ways to make things more difficult, complicated or a complete pain in the @rse and called it version v5. Surely they couldn't have come up with something so useless any other way!!!

Bit of a random moan here but what the hell! As you may know I really dislike this new 'conversation' type thing they have done with the PMs on here so imagine my horror when I opened my yahoo email account the other day to see they have done the same thing on there! Very confusing, especially as it sometimes doesnt even open the last email in the conversation. Well I unfortunately can't move from proboards but seriously considering moving from yahoo. Why do they have to keep tinkering with things that already work perfectly well?!!

Hurrah have finally found out how to get rid of the crappy smilies on here. However it does mean I have to load in some new ones. I'll try and find the same ones we had before, but if not I'm sure I can find something better than the dreadful assortment we have now!

Very confusing, especially as it sometimes doesnt even open the last email in the conversation. Well I unfortunately can't move from proboards but seriously considering moving from yahoo. Why do they have to keep tinkering with things that already work perfectly well?!! I used to use Yahoo, only for receving notifications from wherever not sending. The old interface was better than the updated one. There's Gmail, seems ok but said to have privacy issues. I use Zoho now, it's free and nicer than Yahoo anyway. Yes the forum is good but proboards is crap really. I did'nt want to use it/other free forum hosting services for my forum (as opposed to a free web host, which I use and is fairly rubbish as well, unlike paying for hosting and a proper domain. One of the main advantages of installing phpBB or whatever yourself like that is the ability to back up your database, and choose any mods you want. phpBB is powerful but the admin options are'nt that user-friendly). Anyway, this has happened on the other proboards forum I use, it's annoying: When you refresh the front page of the forum, and click on the last updated topic in a section, it rarely if ever goes straight to the newest page as it should, at least in long/multi-page threads. Threads seem to go to the often ancient first page instead. Even if it does work, it may not snap to the very latest post like better software does. Posting something or whatever else may cause a similar bug. They should really have sorted this out in their update :-( !

It also does it if you click on the link from the 'recent posts' bit too. I never had any real issues with the old proboards tho, I thought it was perfectly adequate.

Well there's another hour of my life I'll never see again lol. I cuoldn't get it re-sized so thought I may as well change the look to tie in with the website - which I've been meaning to do for a while now. I hope everyone likes the new look. One irritating thing is that you dont seem to be able to set the size of the banner, it changes if you enlarge or decrease the page using CTRL and the plus minus keys. So I think it will look slightly different to everyone depending on how big they have the page.

Like the new look! The banner never did look oversized for me, thank goodness, and it is still fine. I use Firefox if it helps to know that.

Looks good to me also Claire, worth the wasted hour of your life lol
Funny you say about Firefox rally. I thought it might be Internet Explorer mucking about so tried it in Chrome and it was still huge. I never thought to try Firefox.

lol Now it's huge for me!!Still with my eye sight that's probably just as well, now if I could just change that wretched light blue writing on the titles which I can barely see - I'd be happy!

I tried it in Firefox and Explorer and it was the same in both. I wonder if it was a UK thing if it was alright for Rally over there in the USA.
Kunuma I will see if I can change the blue writing. I have a feeling tho I tried to change it to black before and it wouldn't have it. But will have a fiddle about and see what happens. At least its only on the titles, I did manage to change a lot of other writing to black text.

I would guess kunuma has everything supersized lol. If you increase the text etc by pressing CTRL and + the title bar does go ridiculously large. They should actually have it set to stay the same size as a lot of websites do but they obviously haven't spent a lot of time on decent programming.

I can't login at all now! I just keep getting a message saying 404 not found! Can you check this out Claire? Is anyone else having trouble?
I like the new look. Before you changed it the title hadn't gone big for me, it had completely disappeared and was just a blank white box!

I had trouble the other day when the heading went big. I tried again later that day and it was O.K. Lord knows with pooboards!
I just wish the latest page/post comes up first instead of having to click to it via the top buttons. Drives me up the wall!!!!!!

Sorry to hear you are having trouble getting in darkhorse. It looks like pooboards are having another fiddle about at the moment as things have suddenly started to go pear shaped again. Try again in a couple of days and if still no luck I'll have a look into it. Also if anyone else has probs logging in either post here as a guest or email me on any of my email addresses.

Well wonders never cease - I have actually thought of one other improvement in the updated version of pooboards. Its actually a lot easier to add 'named' links (as opposed to just cutting and pasting the whole url of the link). Before you had to change the html a little, it wasn't complicated but it was slow. Not saying I am warming to the new version (I'd still like the old one back warts n all) but I thought in all fairness I should give it some credit lol. I don't know if anyone else has found any benefits to the new version - if so please post!

I probably said before, attaching photos is much better as you can attach more than one and also put them where you like in the post and add text better
Agree the named links is better too.
But I hate the rest, especially the thing I mentioned a few posts ago.

I tried proboards for my so-called forum, but seemed rubbish, deleted it. phpBB3 on a free web host (NOT free forum provider as such, installed by me) is good, but the Admin panel is fairly complicated, you need to set confusing permissions to get forum sections to appear at all. You do though have total control, even guests can probably post in polls if you want. For add-ons, needed to get some pb functions, you need automod to make that easier, but changing the forum's background colour etc really needs direct server file editing. You could move this site to a different server/forum software but AFAIK proboards does'nt allow the database to be exported, so everything would be lost.

I thought that proboards (now known as pooboards lol) was fine when I first started the forum many years ago. It was easy to manage and we never seemed to have any probs. A different matter now! TBH tho even if it wasn't really complicated to export it all to another one I just wouldn't have the time to make any changes, so I'm afraid we're stuck with it!

Hi,
I'm Hungarian (EU) and I love ponybooks. I received the following book:
Martina Eberhard: Hästshowen Copyright © 2009 Martina Eberhard (in Hungarian: Martina Eberhard: Lovasbemutató)
The original title's edited in 2008 in Germany, by Stabenfeldt.
BUT You can read on the second page of the book that this story made by Jane Ayres.
So is Martina Eberhard same as Jane Ayres?
What do you think about it?
So, please, help. Thanks a lot.
With regards. Liliana
