No, nothing broken except the bone near the top of my shoulder, where the bone fits into the socket! I'll have the photos later, however.

Geez, Daren, you completely glossed over the severity of things! Broken shoulder, ugh. Years ago I had my clavicle and scapula broken (car accident -- I was a passenger). Wear your sling or whatever they give you religiously -- will help avoid future pain.

Yeah, the sling is a necessity!
In fact, i had to wear it last night in the pram race - while dressed as Scooby-Doo....!

Well, parade day is finally upon us! The sun is shining, so hopefully today will be a good one!
I'm only riding part of the route - the street stuff - but even so, I hope it'll be a good morning for it!

Finally getting to catch up on stuff - I've not been near my computer in almost 48 hours!!
Great day for the parade. Very sunny, and everything went well.
Will post a few photos during the week (there are quite a few!!)

Glad to hear all went well and the weather really was super for it.
How did your shoulder stand up to it?

Daren, I'm so happy for you that the big parade went so well! You didn't let your shoulder stop you! Way to go!
Again, I know this whole experience has been something just so darned fun and exciting, something to remember for a lifetime.

There was no way I was going to let a minor inconvenience such as a broken shoulder stop me from riding the parade!! Even if I had to be led on a lead rope, I was going to do it!
I'm actually not long back from hospital, with an arm that looks like a shark had a go at it. Hopefully I won't be out of the saddle for too long...!

OK, so finally able to post up some of the photos from last week! Here's a selection from the mid-week ride-out on Tuesday. Me and the 2013 Lass The Penicuik Cross-country team: Joanne (Musselburgh Honest Lass 2012), Craig (marshal), Adele (2011 Lass), Sally (2013 Lass), me, Lynsey (2012 Lass), James (2012 Hunter) and Gav (2004 Hunter and marshal) The principle party (with Craig) - guess how many of us fell off?! Mounted up: At the halfway point in Howgate, with Monarch stopping for a quick snack! With Craig: Coming back from the field after my tumble! Getting some treatment before going to hospital! Installation and parade pics to follow later...
