Glad you're doing O.K. Susan. Yes hope you're O.K. too Rallycairn. Kunuma, I've started doing Claire's Mastermind revenge questions, do you want me to PM them to you? I can't remember how we did this last time.

Hi, everyone, yes, I'm back, too. Thanks for your concern! I feel so fortunate and blessed that we came through at our farm virtually unscathed! My thoughts are with the New Yorkers and New Jerseyites and everyone else who got much more water and wind than we did.
Although now having lived through 3 hurricanes and one particularly bad tropical storm (Gaston, which washed out our driveway COMPLETELY), the absolute worst natural event I've survived was a straight-line wind storm we had July 1 of this year, when the temps were over 100 F for days. It was so hard keeping my 18 year old Cairn terrier alive and comfortable, plus all the other dogs and horses as well. Water was scarce because our well pump is electric, so it was hard to even wet everyone to help cool them -- That was the scariest ever for me, when I thought we might have one of our animals actually die (but we all made it).
Anyway, sorry for the interruption, glad to be back on board! Must try to re-read my specialty subject book, Jill's Gymkhana, before Saturday!

Hi rallycairn and susan, glad you have not had it too bad. Been thinking of you when I heard the reports. Does sound like the New York area had it bad! We might have dreary weather over here but at least we don't have anything like that, mind you a few people have sadly died in the floods we've had this year, which have been the worst ever. The nearest I've been to a Hurricane was on the very edge of one when in Corfu and that was bad enough so I can't imagine being in the centre of one!
Going back to mastermind may have to postpone round 2 a little bit due to my losing Ribbons and Rings and having to borrow a copy - sorry!

IMPORTANT MESSAGE - ROUND 2 POSTPONED UNTIL SAT 10TH NOVEMBERI have sent everyone a message (except Rosie who for some reason it would not PM ) about this also just in case anyone misses this. Apologies - this is due to the fact I have had a lot on this week and don't think I'll be able to get all those questions done in time, quite apart from the fact I am trying to scrounge a copy of Ribbons and Rings which I've lost.

Glad you and all the animals made it through ok Rally! It's so much more difficult and traumatic when you've got animals to care for in a disaster.
New York and New Jersey definitely got the worst of it this time.....I can't believe some of the pictures I've been seeing......so surreal and so tragic.

The postponement won't make much difference to me as I was going to wait until the very end anyhow. I haven't had a chance to start re-reading the book yet! Glad to hear that Susan and Rallycairn have go through Hurricane Sandy safely

Thanks for being so understanding guys. Fate seems to be trying to stop me getting this done. Now my tooth which has been giving me the odd twinge for he last few months (it has a filling very close to the nerve and I was warned the nerve might have to come out eventually) has suddenly decided to flare up. (Why do these things always happen on a Friday?) Possibly a spot of root canal surgery will have to be scheduled for next week!

ouch, painful stuff if my Oh is anything to go by, mind you men are wusses when it comes to anything pain/illness related of course!
I'm also pleased about the longer date as haven't got around to re-reading yet either (yes despite ebing off this week).
Glad you are both okay rallycairn/Susan, the news reports have been terrible, so scarey, i think we're very lucky over here that the worst we get is some flooding now and again due to constant rain when you consider the devastating weathers other parts of the world experience on a regular basis.

Thanks to all who have sent in their answers so far. Everyone has done extremely well! Apologies for a couple of typos which crept into the questions. My excuse was that I was coming down with the lurgy when I did the post and didnt have the strength to proof-read them.

Trixiepony (and anyone else new to the competition) you only need to answer your particular questions. But feel free to answer anyone else's questions if you'd like to, just for fun tho - please don't send me all the answers to other people's subjects cos I just won't have time to 'mark' them - I'll put all of the answers up at the end so you can check how well you did then.

You did indeed do well trixiepony! Along with haffy you are so far joint 3rd in the specialist round of the competition, with susan 1st and fizz 2nd. In fact everyone has done really well so far, you certainly all know your specialist subjects inside out When I have all the answers in I'll post the positions for both rounds along with the overall positions and of course this year's Champ!

Hi all, just a quick reminder to the last couple of people who haven't sent in their answers to Round 2 yet, please can you do so asap. The competition officially ends today but if you are really struggling for time let me know and I can give you a day's extension. I would like to get it all wrapped up by tomorrow evening if possible tho.
